I just got back in pokemon. I got out around the end of Rocket. My mom bought me a brock deck some time after that, and then I bough a few early neo. I bought about 10 neo (with light and dark) packs then. i just got 2 ex ruby and sapphire and got Sneasel Ex.( I probly wont use it beacause I don't have any dark energys..) But I was wondering, Can I use my deck that is a majority of Base to fossil, some neo, and some Ex ruby & sapph. in a compitition? thanks for help.

I know why Sneasel is a ice pokemon!

Sneasel-sneeze-[common] cold-ice type

Catch Rayquaza with the Master Ball! Catch a whole team of Bannettes and Golbats at Sky Pillar and stall when you are fighting with Latia/os untill you think you can catch him with a Timer ball! I did it!

Go get the new Disturbed CD, or else!

You can use some base-rocket cards. Check the guide to cards that are legal in Modified in the Tournaments section to see which ones. Most major tournaments are modified. You can find some Unlimited tournements (mostly locally) that, yes, you can use any deck in.

Spring 2003
-Aquapolis came out (introduced Crystal Pokemon)

-Offical announcement of Wizards of the Coast losing Pokemon TCG licence. Nintendo now in charge of the TCG.

-Super Battlezone 2

Summer 2003
- http://www.pokemon-tcg.com up
-EX: Ruby and Sapphire released (Nintendo's First set, including all new Pokemon and eight new rule changes)

My advice for the here and now:
Make sure you understand all of the new rules of the game. Go to http://www.pokemon-tcg.com for more information on that. Then feel free to be playing with just the cards you have for now, but I suggest you start collecting again starting with EX: Ruby and Sapphire.

Personally if you're starting again I would grab some eCard Base set Expedition and then Ruby and Sapphire.

I can't see Nintendo switching straight to their own card set more likely the newer tourney format will be eCard onwards.
