Sauron it'll be 7:30pmGMT everywhere in the world at the same time
I've spoken with UkpokemonPro on the phone. Bad news is that he can't make a chat on either Tuesday or Wednesday next week. He sends his apologies in advance and will discuss questions with me over the weekend.
It does look like there should be lots to find out from Lee though Including a possible list of Uk Leagues!
oh and I think europe is GMT+1 so 8:30pm Sauron

7:30pm on 3, December 2002 (Tuesday) is the following times in other places in the world.
GMT - 0 = 7:30pm (United Kingdom) GMT +1 = 8:30pm (Germany, France, etc) GMT +2 = 9:30pm (Norway and most of Scandanavia) GMT -5 = 2:30pm (New York, Eastern Standard Time) GMT -6 = 1:30pm (Chicago, Central Standard Time) GMT -7 = 12:30pm (Denver, Mountain Standard Time) GMT -8 = 11:30am (Los Angeles, Las Vegas - Pacific Standard Time) GMT -9 = 10:30am (Anchorage, Alaska Standard Time) GMT -10 = 09:30am (Honolulu, Hawaii Standard Time)

i'll try to make it - AIM TEFr3ddyK
Wonder if he knows anything about how today's Ł5million fine from the European Community on Hasbro (due to pricefixing and forcing distributors to not sell at the discounted prices they wanted to) will affect 'Pokémon' long term...

sorry it was the Office of Fair Trading not the EC...
-fK
quote: Toy manufacturer Hasbro has been fined almost Ł5 million by the Office of Fair Trading for preventing distributors selling its toys and games below list price.
An OFT investigation found Hasbro and 10 distributors broke competition law by entering into price-fixing agreements.
The distributors in the case escaped any fines because the OFT found they had no choice but to accept Hasbro's threat not to go below the list price.
Hasbro has responded by announcing it is planning to appeal against the OFT's decision.
Some of the firm's best-selling toys were at the centre of the inquiry, including Action Man, Monopoly, Pictionary and Twister.
In a statement it said: "We are surprised and disappointed at the level of the fine imposed by the OFT, which we believe to be disproportionate.
"The activities cited by the OFT occurred over a very short period of time and through a limited number of wholesale distributors.
"Hasbro believes that such activities had no significant effect on competitiveness within its small network of distributors or on consumers."
The OFT had initially proposed to fine Hasbro Ł9 million but agreed to reduce it because the company co-operated fully with the investigation.
The Ł4.95 million penalty is still the largest the OFT has imposed since it gained new powers under the Competition Act 1998, which came into force in March 2000.

Norway, Denmark and Sweden are all in the same zone as Germany, France etc. Finland do belong to the GMT +2 zone, but not everyone would include them in Scandinavia...

Freddy,
the proposed fine and OFT investigation was highlighted in the company reports from last year as a potential cost.
Hasbro however played down the possibility of a big fine and did mention that they would appeal any decision they thought unfair.
Guess we can look for a few more layoffs and cost cutting exercises to pay for more corporate greed.
Trouble seems to be that within any big company when the top screws up it's the workers and customers who suffer whilst the boss gets a 30+ percent pay rise and a few more share options.
Look for Indian call centres running OP and chat next year
Cynical me .. nah I am just getting too old not to notice the games being played..

Any chance of moving the Chat to wednesday?
Ben can't make either date, Nigel can't make Tuesday but can manage Wednesday I'd prefer Wednesday as it will give me a chance to visit the Micham League which has just lost is Gym Leader.
Unless there are any serious objections I'm going to *try* and contact Lee to arrange for Wednesday rather than Tuesday. If I get through I'll probably have to talk him through downloading and setting up AIM. We don't want any excuses for a no-show now do we
sorry to rock the boat before its even launched

Ian
I have no problem with moving the chat to Wednesday if that is easier for most people.
I already habe an aol profile, so there should be no problems with using AIM unless the work computers give me a problem loading it on them. If they do I will be just chat from home!.

Lee,
nice to see you here .... when you gonna get one of those Staff profiles?
NoPoke,
good luck with Mitchem and the drive there.
I wouldn't want the regular Chat to be Wednesday as that is my League night so Tuesday should normally be Okay..
