I am wanting to run a sealed Theme Deck Tournament (non-sanctioned of course) and I am wondering what Theme decks and sets work good together. I know Legendary collection works the best for this type of thing, but what other sets work good too?

I plan to do it so the player gets 1 random Theme Deck and 2 bosters. Is this the way it works best? [Confused] [Confused]

Yes, a theme deck with 2 boosters is the "standard".

I have used Team Rocket boosters with great success. I believe that Base Set 2 would also work fairly well. These 2 choices assume that you are working with older theme decks.

The idea is that players should have some hope of pulling cards from those boosters that mesh with the evo lines in the decks.

Because LC boosters tend to have more than one card from the same line, they are by far the best choice. I myself am planning to do TMP sealed, giving each team 2 theme decks and 4 LC boosters!

Why non-sanctioned?
It is considerd a LIMITED format, MTM said so on a chat a while back.

I USED LC + 2 Rocket and then mixed up some expedition and some Destiny.

I Numbered each deck & packs. Then I had players IN the order of POD assignment (you could even do it by PLAYER# upon enrollment) and had them Roll a 20 sided die... so which ever # they rolled THAT is the PreCon they received.

BUT I was not personally happy with how it went... MOST enjoyed it... I'll probably just sanction DRAFTS...

Good luck & have fun!!!

I wasn't sure if I could sanction a Sealed Deck Tournament, I will keep that in mind for next time.

Why non-sanctioned?

So he can play of course.

There are still some of us judges who hold non-sanctioned events so we can still play.

It keeps us from falling into the TO "Trap" and wanting to pull out what little hair I(we) have left.

Sometimes you just wanna play.

Side note - can't wait for Aquapolis - we are going to do a Battlezone Draft!!! 3/3 Aquapolis/Expedition in Mid-January!

Yes, I will probably sanction it, [Frown]
