I'm sorry, but I gotta agree with Sauron about this one:
--------------------------------------------
Jumpluff 70 HP (G)
Stage 2 PokČmon Evolves from Skiploom
(PokČBody) Fluff
Whenever an attack does anything to
Jumpluff during your opponents turn and
Jumpluff already has any damage counters
on it, flip a coin. If heads, prevent all effects
of that attack, including damage, done to
Jumpluff.
(G) Cotton Punch 30X
Flip 2 coins. This attack does 30 damage
times the number of heads.
Weakness - Resistance - Retreat Cost
(R) (W) -30
Yuka Morii 012/092 Rare
------------------------------------------
(Spoiler from Pokeschool)

This thing is OVERPOWERED. However, being a devoted Jumpluff player, not unlike Sauron, I wouldn't change a thing. It ROCKS! [Big Grin]

As for all the set stuff, it sounds really cool. I wish it weren't coming so fast because I don't even OWN an expedition card yet, but that's the holiday season for ya [Wink] good times =)

Doesn't seem terribly broken to me.

1. It's a Stage 2
2. Only 70 HP. (Rather weak for a Stage 2, isn't it?)
3. Attack has possibility for no damage.
4. It's weak against Fire. Your favorite Entei variant will rip right through it.

Seriously, nobody plays grass even with this card. The only grass deck I see viable is Vileplume. I agree, for the most part, with Sauron.

Nobody plays grass? Where've you been? The existing jumpluffs are both very powerful. Venucenter decks are VERY mean, as are Crobat decks. Muk is also finding widespread use to combat Slowking. Discovery Beedrill is devastating in the TMP format and isn't half bad in this one either. I'm also working on a project involving the discovery Butterfree, but I'm not sure how strong it will be.

OS:
"1. It's a Stage 2"
You know how easy it is to get 4 Jumpluffs on the table at the same time? Imagine hime with Rainbow energy and Focus band in MANY different decks.

"2. Only 70 HP. (Rather weak for a Stage 2, isn't it?)"
70 is not at all bad when you consider that he has NO RETREAT COST, only requires one energy for a seriously powerful attack, and has a power much like Fossil Haunter's Transparency. Think Jumpluff Swarm dude.

"3. Attack has possibility for no damage."
A possibility. Odds: nothing(25%, 30(50%), 60(25%). It all balances out, and gives the Jumpluff family the punch it needs. Also, an attack like that would normally cost two colored energy or even 2 colored and one colorless. The power gives it even more chance to make with the hitting.

"4. It's weak against Fire. Your favorite Entei variant will rip right through it."
This is easily solved in two ways:
1. Focus Band
There is a 50% chance that your macargo will be dumping all it's energy to do NO damage, and a 75% chance that Jumpluff will still survive despite being reduced to 10 HP.
2. Versatility
Jumpluff's low energy costs have made it possible to mix with other types before, but now it's actually very practical. Using rainbow energy to power it's deadly onslaught will also trigger it's power without suffering any bad blows. Add a water deck and stir, and your Entei variant problems are solved.

Also bear in mind that he has resistance to water, a neat perk considering that water might actually be useful between kingdra, gatr, and blastoise. And if you're up against fighting, just don't evolve past skiploom and thrash them that way(You WOULD use the NG pre-evos, right? [Smile] ).

And with all that, I rest my case, for the moment. Considering that we don't live that far from one another, OS, perhaps would could test this theory sometime? [Cool]

Ah, gimme a break. The only real person I've ever played agianst is my brother. I'm just basing my knowlegde on what I read on here, and what I think is an up-to-date interpretation of such. And since I don't exactly have large sums of cash, nor people to play against (I'm stuck in this town), I have no idea how other people play the game, or what lots of cards do.

Oh, ok then, I'll give you a break. But the way the game works is a lot easier to understand with practice. Apprentice isn't bad for that purpose. I can especially stand to give you a break since most of what you know comes from what you read here, and it's not like you can read anything good here anyways [Wink] (j/k)

sorry for this I just had to say something...

quote:
1. It's a Stage 2
2. Only 70 HP. (Rather weak for a Stage 2, isn't it?)
3. Attack has possibility for no damage.
4. It's weak against Fire. Your favorite Entei variant will rip right through it.

*ahem*

1. and 2. uhm...If I use it together with rainbow energy its a stage 2 with a transparecy power and for ONE energy it can do a possible 60 damage-
3. dude, WHY do you play tyrogue??
4. So does it matter...no. entei/cargo can rip through a gatr with 120 HP you nut.

go check my deck out and be sure to AIM cuz im gonna show you damnit...

btw. cpusearch aimed me and talked about a card that worked like a time capsule (its a supporter w/o the "you cant play anymore trainers during your turn" effect) you get to shuffle in up to 5 Pokemon and/or ... ENERGY cards.

noticed something unusual? it didnt say BASIC ENERGY CARDS...it said ENERGY cards...

uhhmmm...THATS a scary card...

Lol @ the gengar impersonator...

Yeah Golduck it's definitely bringing up lots of discussion. I think my counter to Orange Soda's statements was way better though [Wink]
lol. Despite that though we enlightened(yes, enlightened, Jumpluff RULES) Jumpluff players gotta stick together [Big Grin]

I have a feeling that the time-capsule-like supporter was simply mistranslated because otherwise there would be no need for the energy charge or power charge cards.

Soslowpoke: So the Crystal Energy is like a rainbow energy, but it doesn't do the 10 damage, and it only works that way if there is also a basic energy of some kind attached?
