Ready? Here it is>>

We (very) recently had a major brouhaha here on the boards. Part of this brouhaha involved the disclosure of a private conversation between a WotC employee and a member of the boards. While the presentation of that conversation was probably fractured (we never heard the WotC employee's side of it and we have seen on other threads how hearing the other side can change the look of things dramatically!), disclosed it was.

Don't you think for a minute that there weren't repurcussions from that. That whole thing that was "supposed to save Pokemon or destroy it" is directly to blame for the lack of information that is flowing out. You can bet that until every single contract is signed and every single TO is lined up and every single location is set in stone we aren't going to hear one gol'darn word about the details of the upcoming series.

Thank you, Lugia.
Thank you, Martin.

You guys want to vent at someone about not hearing details on OP, there you go. It is laid directly at their feet.

*sigh* Please note that I am using my member name here, too...

In the interest of fairness, I'd like to make a very fine point here, which I think may be obscured in attempts to place the "blame" for the lack of info regarding the upcoming Challenge series.

That point is: certainly, one can be of the opinion that one or both of the community members named above are the "reason" that information about the Challenges will not be released until "set in stone".

But, the reasons that these events are not yet "set in stone"...which in the weekly chats were specified as being due to budget and other reasons...CANNOT be "laid at the feet" of any individual community members.

A very fine point, but I hope that I am not out of line in trying to make that clear. Blame these people if you'd like for the lack of infomation...but do not blame them for the delay in finalizing the events themselves.

As 'Mom says, I am only talking about the lack of info. I never said it was the cause of the delay.

Get a grip, Random and Martin. Read what is written, not what you want to read.

And Martin, you've been mentally outta here for a long time. You just keep forgetting to stop posting. If you count continual "Pokemon is dying, play Yu Gi Oh" as real posing, that is.

PokePop Thinks I'm insane,
Because he said I don't have half a brain,
Little do you know your breaking your own rule,
You have no clue how I'm doing in school,
So if I'm allowed to say just a thing,
It's that negativity is all you bring,
To this topic and to the board,
Let me know If I struck a cord,
With you, or any of your higher ups,
Soon I will be leaving in a pick up truck,
Because for now I am stuck like chuck,

But Oh wait,
Lets get this straight,
You say I encourage yu-gioh!
While I style my fro,
Posting at Wizo,
Little do you know,
I love Pokemon,
I love this game better than Digimon,
are my little rhymes getting you annoyed?
or am I just paranoid?
Aw forget it, I am through,
because everything I say is simply true. [Big Grin]

*Sigh*

Well, it's not as though information ever flowed very freely to begin with, really.

That's the corporate world for ya, though.

I think we can look to Hasbro to find the reason for the delays. But that's like staring down a deep well. It seems to me that Hasbro doesn't like this game quite as much as I do.

Then again, I never cared much for Hasbro either. I just don't think that Hasbro really "gets" what WotC is... or, used to be... about. Sadly, WotC seems to be retrenching with M:tG and "regrouping".

The truth is that people get pretty unenthused pretty quickly when there is not enough info to make intelligent decisions. Speaking of intelligent decisions, I think there are a few within WotC's power right now. I hope they see that...

The way to fight "unsubstantiated rumors" is by releasing more information, not less. Hasbro/WotC can certainly release whatever information it wants to, whenever it wants to. A self-imposed information blackout is untimately self-defeating.

Actually, there are things in the works that would easily turn the U.S.A./UK into dictatorships... but that is off topic. As for the whole thing about Yu-Gi-Oh: I like it, I play it, it can give me rulings headaches (but not as bad as Ditto [Wink] ), and this Fad I am ready to ride, namely, I have purchased two boxes of yu-Gi-Oh sets and then sold the singles I didn't want to break even. I will probably play Yu-Gi-Oh even after the fad dies out (if it does... never know), but I am not collecting it as I do Pokemon. I play it because its not Pokemon, but not completely unlike it, so it keeps Pokemon from getting stale from over-playing... and they cancelled the Transformers TCG (stupid Hasbro [Mad] ).

Okay I did a little looking into. There is a Yu-gi-oh League and supposivly a tournament system that my store has no interest in messing with. Unless a TO for Yu-gi-oh comes to Ft. Collins, there won't be anything for Yu-gi-oh.

Yu-gi-oh is a pain to collect. The commons are harder to find than shining pokemon. I on;y buy the cards to play but the reason this topic isn't crazy is because for me, it concerns money. Money that i want to get back if yugioh loses popularity. Martin's rhymes are both funny and annoying, but i find it hard to believe people are blaming one person for the lack of info. There's just something wrong with that.

Martin thinks `Pop`s insane,
Because `Pop said Martin don't have half a brain.
Little does Marty know he`s broken many a rule,
And still has no clue how he`s doing in school.
So if I'm allowed to say just a thing,
It's that negativity is all Martin brings,
To this topic and to the board,
Let me know If I struck a chord,
With you Martin, or any of your peers.
Soon you will be leaving in an IP Ban,
Because for now you are stuck like Jam.

But Oh wait,
Lets get this straight,
You say we are too stict on,
you but you are here for me to pick on,
Posting at Wizo,
Little do you know.
We love Pokemon too,
We love this game better than YGO too.
Is my little rhyme getting you annoyed?
or am I just paranoid?
Aw forget it, I am through,
because everything I just said is simply true too. [Devilish]

Unfortunately,`Pop is 100% correct about a certain person(not Martin).I wish it wasn`t so,but alas,it is.And Martin,I`m just picking on ya.

I can rhyme,
about as good as time,
can flow by,
with apple pie,
but let me tell you something,
I find interestING,
I can't rhyme,
oh I can't rhyme.

Pokemon's great,
we live in a crate,
the world goes round,
and we go to the pound,
but remember this one thing,
that we all live with 20 rings,
and that one,
rules,
them,
all,

This is why Martin is an Eminem sensation, and I'm not. Regardless, wasn't this a yugioh bash? It turned into a leetist bash ;D

Isn't a bash,
some sort of rash,
that turns red,
before your dead,
or is a bash,
some sort of sash,
that you put on a dress,
that looks like a mess?

I think a bash is like a party,
rhyming like Marty,
I can do this rhyme,
and you can do the time!

I am giving YGO about 2 more months before we can really say that it's "dead". The game can't possibly compete with Pokemon or M:TG. YGO is simply a fad that is selling well due to its TV show. However, the game itself is very rudimentary and doesn't have the potential life span that Pokemon and M:TG have enjoyed for years now. I would put YGO in a classification with Digimon cards as being a major spinoff of Pokemon and a little of M:TG. It is not possible for Konami to build upon a game that has already "died" in Japan. There is no room to improve upon a game that has already failed; it can only go down from here. You might have picked up on how Konami has shipped the YGO sets within 2 months of each other and will continue to do so in the coming months. They know it will die and are milking the license for all it's worth. To sum everything up:YGO is dying while Pokemon and M:TG are alive and well. I have seen many YGO players playing Pokemon again and trying to trade for holo Charizards instead of Blue Eyes White Dragons. Pokemon4Ever! [Big Grin]

Well Pokesensei thanks for the warning,
I'll take it into consideration tomorrow morning,
I really don't like how you ripped my rhyme,
Because all that is, is a waste of time,
Maybe your suffering from a lack of social life,
Or maybe you find pleasure in all this strife,
Oh well, I have no real beef with you bro.,
Maybe I can help you with some of your tones,
The path to rhyming is pretty exciting,
The adrenaline you get is pretty egnighting
Maybe the entire Team compendium will knock on my door,
Or sue me until IM poor,
Or better yet, fall to the floor,
I can't think of no more...

No problem Marty my man,
I wuz just pickin` on ya not showing you the can,
Don`t take my rhyme serious,
Or you just may go delirious,
So chill out dude,
I`m not trying to be rude,
All of us are going off topic,
And the problems aint microscopic,
So we should end all this rhyme,
Or the thread will get locked in time...

I still prefer Oingo Boingo to Eminem.

Say, anyone got an Oingo Boingo card that works in an e-Reader? Does it unlock a song?
