This is response to a post made by LizardOTC to get a meaningful discussion devoid of spam, gripes and flames to try and help WotC see that 15+ is a necessary part of the game. This NOT that thread (which I hope LOTC will start). This is a rollcall to show how many 15+ players are out there so it can be translated into $$$ which is the native language for most businesses. Show them in concrete terms how much 15+ is worth to them. So - guys - lets keep the spam down. Give names and facts - save discussion for LOTC's post.
Name: Jonathan Smith - aka ScythKing
Master Professor, Chattanooga Tennessee.
Gym Leader from year 1.
Cards purchased per release - 3 to 4 boxes typically. Sometimes as many as a whole case.
My son is 10 and has been to ECSTS, WCSTS, and Worlds from trips won at events.
We've collected complete 1st edition sets of all releases except Base set 2 and Legendary.

At least a constructive 15+ topic that isn't all about bashing Wizards (I'm so tired of people who bash Wizards).

Name: Eskil Vestre - aka TEGolduck or just Golduck
Master Professor, Fjellstrand, Norway.
Gym Leader from year 2.

Age: 16

I judge one local tourney every Wednesday, and play in one tournament in the city every Sunday.

Cards purchased per release - about 20 boosters of every new set when it comes. (I'm just a school student, I can't buy more [Razz] ).

Played at two STS Qualifiers; ECSTS 2000 Qualifier Norway and WCSTS 2001 Qualifier Sweden. Won them both. Also played at Professor Challenge Amsterdam, which I also won. Played at the ECSTS, WCSTS and Worlds.

Together with Super Psyduck, I run practically all events in Norway and hand out fliers to players that explain important news such as the Modified format or TMP (without us, nobody in the country would play Modified - and that's true).

Here's my stats:

Name: Jason Ross Emery aka ST Pika
Pokemon Profesor
Age: 21
Residence: Currently Chicago, IL- Fairbanks, Alaska after January 13th
Cards purchased per release: Well, I've been playing the card game since 9/2000, around when Team Rocket was released. I have bought a box of every set, unlimited and 1st edtion from Team Rocket to Neo 4. I have also traded for hundreds of cards and bought many single cards off of stores and people.

I have been to several tournaments, starting with the Mall Tour 2000, ECSTS 2001, WCSTS 2001, WCSC 2002, CSC 2002. I also went to qualifier tournaments in Detroit and Indianapolis in 2001.

I feel the game is important to me, I have many friends that play, and I like traveling to the different tourneys and meeting/playing other people from around the world. I also like collecting the cards and watching the cartoon. I have made a huge fanfic based on the cartoon at http://www.pokeschool.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=002385;p=1

I would like to see WOTC support the 15+ players more, give them an incentive to teach others and to continue to play themselves. 15+ players are the future core of the game and they need to be supported. That's my thoughts.

I was a news reporter for the former Team Sprocket web site (as MT Pika). Winner of pre-WCSC 2002 draft at the Mariott. 2nd place in the Theme Deck draft at the CSC 2002.

Cards: I've only invested a measly 4-5 hundred $ personally [Smile] I have almost every card, and multiple copies of most, from every set except the gym sets(I was out of the loop), and expedition.

I have yet to attend a premiere event of any kind. I missed the only premeire event to be run in my back yard(CSC) because I was overseas at the time, but oh well. I have made many friends and seen many amazing things while playing this game. Just look at what happened with Golduck. I met Pokedok as well and I can vouch for his collection; he has invested a fortune in this stuff. I've been in a tournament before and made T8 before being knocked out by a wiggly, but I still had fun. I'll soon be turning 16 which means part time job, which means spending money, which means I'll be joining the group of people who buy a case of every new set in the not-too-distant future. A case. 9 cards*36 packs*6 boxes=almost 2000 cards. Multiply that by the many thousands of 15+ players, and then by 4 or more expansions yearly. Do I need to go on? [Cool]
I'm hoping to run a battlezone league at a local card store and will be picking up the phone in a few minutes to talk to the manager(coincidence, not bribery, I just happened to look it up today [Big Grin] ), so wish me luck [Wink]
Where's Lizard? I want him to make a long post with cool smilies so we can start discussing, and so I can make posts with my stolen smilies [Devilish]

I currently get 2-3 boxes of cards per set. I participate in local leagues and tournements. I've been collecting for about 4 years and playing for about 2 years. I possess at least one of almost every card which contributes to 3 binders and 4 card boxes. I have all of the preconstructed decks up to the Neo sets. I also follow the television show [Angel]

Been with the game since the very first expansion.
Just a student, so i can't afford cases and all, but I do buy a healthy supply of most sets. I have a binder, 3 1.5-feet long boxes, 1 1-foot box, and 4 half-foot boxes full of cards. That's several thousand cards.
Hopefully, I'll be able to get more involved in real life in the coming year.

What, like the pro-archetype attitude is supposed to be restricted to THIS company, and THIS TCG?
All card games run on archetypes. Magic is 90% archetypes. YGO is 90% archetypes. Pokemon was, for the most part, all archetypes before and during MF2. Pokemon will be archetype-based during MF3. Pokemon will be archetype based when it is under Nintendo.

Viva la unoriginality!

I also run a pokemon league(the only one withing a 30 minute drive or more) and plan on running a pokemon BZ. Also, seeing as there arent a whole lot of tournies around here, i have recently traveled to MD just for a regular DCI tourny, just imagine how far i would go for a premier event(if there was an actual reason for me to go)....
