now that I know that the extra card has to be a promos since that is all that was released durring the time period base-rocket I would guess either pikachu, eevee, mewtwo, or (but I sure hope not) mew. eevee because of it's evolutions and the other 3 because this is suposed to be "the best of red and blue" which if best they mean most popular then all 3 fall under it and if best they mean most powerful then mewtwo and mew both fit the bill (no pun intended).

No, it can't be Mew. Mew was released Jan 8th if I am right, and that was before TR came out, so in reality, it was released in between Base-TR.

Why rerelease a promo when all promos are already playable? Doesn't make sense. Although there are two promos that aren't playable ... Ancient Mew and Happy Birthday Pikachu. Maybe they put Ancient Mew in English and a normal backside to make it playable ... Possible??? Or to make this set draftable, a early promo would be rereleased like an eevee.

I believe the promo will be Mew.
Mew is suppose in the English Fossil set as in Japan, but it is taken out. Also, Mew is not included in any English set except SI. Actually Si is more like a Promo set, not a normal release set. To make Mew more avaliable (even we all have ton of this card), I believe Mew will be in the LC.
Another choice is Movie promo Mewtwo. It is because the base Mewtwo is only for stalling which WOTC don't like. It is logical to release the MP Mewtwo other than the Base Mewtwo
All Promo release before Gym Hero (around April or May 2000). DMTM say the release between Base and TR. The Period of TR end with the release of Gym Hero. So I think it is a chance that any promo release before Gym Hero are prossible.

Todays card is on your left.
You of course are correct to some extent about evolution chains being in the set as it will be needed as a draftable stand alone.
However Breeder is in the set so...some existing chains do not have to be completed. You can still play them without it. ![[Devilish]](../tcg/graemlins/diablo.gif)

Gengar is cool. The Curse Pokemon Power has always been one of my favorites. I remember that really sorry deck I made along time ago when I first started into Pokemon. Of course Gengar was it it so it couldn't have been all that bad. ![[Big Grin]](../tcg/biggrin.gif) I hope we get the Fossil Gastly and Haunter instead of their horrible Base Set versions.

It's perfectly simple.
The rereleased promo will be Devolution Beam Mew. This is likely because this will allow you to combat Breeder in Draft.
If both Breeder and Trader come out, Devolution Beam will be mad TecH.

I DON'T WANT DEVOLUTTION BEAM MEW!!!
In my League they started giving them away at the end of the first season because they got so many of them. One person was called Mew Boy because he had so many of them and two pages of his binder were compleatly full!!! I have a stack of about 30-50 laying around somewhere!!! (Stops and starts to breathe normally) Sorry about that, I lost controll. If they want to re-release Mew I would ask that it was NOT the devolution Beam one. Glad to see that Gengar is being re-released though . I used to run a five evolution deck that did pretty good at my old league and, Gengar was one of the stage 2's. DMTM could you either tell us it is not Devolution Beam Mew or make that the next card of the day... PLEASE!!! Oh well... Can't wait for the set to be realesed.

Ok, I have just gone through 11 pages or so of this thread trying to get caught up...
Someone made a good point- With breeders running rampant, Mew would be an interesting TecH card.
Anyway, there is one card that would be so horrible to release in LC, a card that is SO unbelievably broken, should it be re-released it'd totally dominate the play field. If it came back, it'd be in EVERY deck, and destroy ALL who oppose it. What is this unbelievable card? This force against all that dares to stand against it? To speak it's name would be so horrible that you'd lose your hearing for a while which is why I'm glad I'm typing this. This card is:

I bet it will be the D.B. Mew. Remember when everybody got mad since they took Mew out of Fossil, and it hasn't been in an American set yet??? I bet they will finally answer the cries of the Pokemon lovers, and well as the Mew die-hards.

No Dark Golbat. But there is breeder (unfortunatly) so Dark Cro will still be playable.
