-------------------- I was at this heavy rock concert and the lead singer came out and asked "how many of you feel like human beings?" then he asked "Now how many of you feel like animals!?" and everyone cheered. I didn't know there was a second part to the question, so I applauded for the 1st part. "Yes I do feel like a human, I do not feel like a tree."

MMMm not so sure it's down to just the foil being in a different section.
Look
The Mew on the right has the same background colour as all my mew promo's holo and non-holo.. the one on the left does not have the same background colour at all...
comments anyone?

Phil, Phil, Phil. You should know how to play the Ebay market, right? Don't bid 'til the last second! That's over 15 bids all at once! Take it a little easier man!
and btw, if that's a fake, then the guy did a REALLY good job faking it. Looks legit to me [ March 01, 2003, 07:19 AM: Message edited by: The true lord of the pits ]

Waaaaaait a minute. *blinks* That HAS to be fake! I remember having some cards with a foil just like that. They were counterfiet(sp?). I had a Blastoise and a Venusaur like that. I think they're still in my closet. I'll see if I can find them and I'll scan them.

FYI, what I consider an "error" are mistakes done on the card layout level. As in if you open a fresh pack of cards and found a particular error card, it would have that error. Errors done on the printing level (miscut cards, off colored cards) don't count because it could happen to every card.
Concerning THIS card... If you want my opinion, maybe it was a major error that Wizards caught at the beginning and destroyed, yet some of them managed to fall through the cracks. I don't doubt it for a second, because it HAS happened. But I personally would perfer a hand on look (or at least a REALLY GOOD scan).
godofthunder; I'm interested to know, when you finally recieve it, if the foil was scratched off, or if the card is totally unscratched (within reason). If so, would it be possible to furnish me a scan of the card, provided you own a scanner?
I really am curious about this.... [raises eyebrow] [ March 01, 2003, 11:47 PM: Message edited by: nick15 ]

the way to fake that card would be to start with a real one. Then, mask off the non-picture part of the card and mask off the Mew part of the picture (as best as possible. Then using a solvent, wipe off the background picture. It's printed right on the foil and solvent will take it off.
I've seen ones before where all of the picture area has been wiped off. I haven't seen one like this. This would take a lot more work. Look for traces of the background picture near the picture of the Mew, or look for bits of the Mew being wiped off by accident.
