May I have your attention, please? Attention, please. I can deal with this trouble, friends, with the wave of my hand, this very hand Please observe me, if you will I'm Professor Phil McKinney And I'm here to organize a River City Tournament
Oh, think, my friends, how can any 15 tournament ever hope to compete with a professor card Raaa- raaa- ra-da-da-da-da-raaa-raa Remember, my friends, what a handful of fifteen players did to the famous, STS of East Coast Oh, age limit walls come a-tumblin' down
Oh, a program'll do it, my friends,oh yes I said a Prof Program, do you hear me? I say River City's gotta have a tournament and I mean she needs it today Well, Professor Phil Mckinney's on hand and River City's gonna have her big event Just as sure as Nitendo made little yellow mice and that staff's gonna be in uniform
Satoshi, Cassidy, Nick, Ech And you'll see the glitter of crashing coins and you'll hear the thunder of rolling dice and the shimmer of electric dice. Ta-ta-ta! And you'll feel something akin to the electric thrill I once enjoyed when IPGeek, Pat Swift, The Great Chrisbo, Captain Weedle and Big Daddy Snorlax all came to town on the very same historic day!
Seventy six judges led the big event With a hundred and ten players close at hand. They were followed by rows and rows of the finest virtuosos, the cream of ev'ry tournament.
Seventy six judges caught the morning sun, With a hundred and ten players right behind. There were more than a thousand beeds springing up like weeds, There were decks of every shape and kind.
There were copper priced side events in big demand, Modified, Modified, all along the way. Double player tournaments and booster drafts, Each booster having eleven cards per pack.
There were three devisions in the tournament, Modified, Modified, louder than before. Matches of every size and attendees who'd metagame One weakness higher than before.
Seventy six judges marked the match results, While a hundred and ten players read the results. To the order of "WIN, TIE, LOSS" All the kids began to pair And they're pairing still, right today! -Phil [ October 07, 2002, 04:34 PM: Message edited by: GymLeaderPhil ]

Yep, I won something again. o_O
Don't wanna sound like I'm bragging but all of the winners are getting each of the Expedition Precons (Alakazams for everyone!) and 15 boosters. Good deal.

Might want to try Refreshing the page, resetting your clock to the right date, and/or delete your cookies/temp files/history. -Phil

Well, it's nice that Pojo finally awarded these prizes. I guess I should have submitted lots of questions and increased my chances of winning. From Pojo's advertisement, I'd assumed they were picking PEOPLE at random and not EMAILs.
Quote for Pojo's site: quote: For those of you who submitted questions to us, we'll be picking people at random to win some Prizes. Wizards of the Coast is giving us 2 Booster Boxes of cards to give away.
I guess it was a good thing that the email numbers picked were sent by different people; otherwise, someone could have been picked twice or three times.
Anyway, props to those who won. Slops to Pojo for using an adhoc prize selection process.

I think what they did was that they had all of the e-mails in the inbox and they were all assigned a number. Then DMTM picked 3 numbers and then whoever's e-mail was the number in the queue that matched the number DMTM chose won.
Like here's an Example:
INBOX:
From: Subject: Etc... Red Exp. ?s Blue Exp. ?s Yellow Exp. ?s Green Exp. ?s Gold Exp. ?s Silver Exp. ?s Crystal Exp. ?s Ruby Exp. ?s Sapphire Exp. ?s
So let's say DMTM had picked 1, 5, and 8. That means Red, Gold, and Ruby would have won.

Certainly, if each person submitted only one email, then the winner selection process matched the advertisement. BTW Soslowpoke, how many emails (not questions) did you submit? That is, how many times did you email Pojo with questions? Anyway, congrats for winning.
