I've had a look at the DCI website and checked the rated tournaments in different European countries. Here's what I've found :
Country : Jan 1/June 30 - July 1/Oct 30 - Year 2002
Belgium : 49 - 31 - 80 Czech Rep : 80 - 22 - 102 Denmark : 86 - 24 - 110 Germany : 64 - 50 - 114 Spain : 44 - 23 - 67 UK : 62 - 31 - 93
Total : 385 - 181 - 566
Netherlands and Sweden have really few rated tournaments in 2002.
I'm very surprised by the Czech Republic Other countries are not so bad too.
What do you think about it ? [ October 29, 2002, 01:30 PM: Message edited by: Michel ]

Well Michel,
one thing I have been doing lately is changing from Swiss on a league night to knockouts.
What I then do is allocate a points system for where you place in the knockout.
So knocked out in the first round is 1 point, knocked out in the Semi-Finals is 2 points, knocked out in the Finals is 3 points and winning gives you 6 points (that's in an 8 player in a 4 player tourney then it's 1pt ko'd first round, 2pts ko'd in final and 3 pts to the winner)
I then put the points into a table and see who has won at the end of the Night.
The players seem to like it and it means that you can win a lot of points but still be close to those who have lost but played in a lot of tourneys.
Winners still tend to win but every is in with a chance of a prize.
On Sunday when we ran this over 5 hrs we got 12 tourneys done!
WotC UK have encouraged us to play more tourneys as it is one of the criteria used in allocating resources .. so my advice play more and quicker tourneys [ October 29, 2002, 07:37 PM: Message edited by: ukpokemonpro ]

I apologize to all the players and TO of Norway for having forgotten them
You're right Eskil, Norway is a big Pokemon country in Europe and may certainly not be forgotten.

This is more off-topic than the posts at the TE board when everyone starts to talk about their love for rice or advert for their website. -_-
Anyway, OP in Norway is just getting better. We now have at least 2 tournies per week!
