I will be flying out to London this friday to meet with the organized play managers from all of the European offices to talk about many different programs including helping them get the Profesor program up and running in their countries as well. So for all of you European Professors, thank you for what you have started! I will tell you about the trip when I get back.

Michael Gills (Master Trainer Mike)

[Eek!] [Eek!] [Eek!]

Yikes!!!
Any chance of you bringing a Maple bar to the Kent UK Gym Challenge on the Sunday, for each of the three Professors helping to run this event?!?

[Love] [Love] [Love]

Looking forward to meeting you again, MTM!

hmmm that's a lot of Maple Bars...

Perhaps he'll make exception, as we don't have Maple Bars anywhere on the continent! [Smile]

hmmm does that list include Prof. sentimental_blastoise who's getting a lift from me?

Is there also some way that people can become Profs there on the 7th?

PS what time should we all make it there?

I need to correct a misconception and possibly help you avoid an International incident. Where Maple Bars are concerned, it is DMTM (Mike Boozer) who is the fanatic. Why, he even thinks Maple Bars are doughnuts! [Eek!]

During the Thursday Pokemon Chats, MTM is often found harassing DMTM about his precious Maple Bars. If you count on MTM to show up with a supply of Maple Bars you might be sadly disappointed. That will probably lead to some harsh words, upon which MTM will challenge you do a Pokéduel, using his Thread the Weedle deck. Next thing you know, the US and England will sever diplomatic relations.

I think for the safety of the free world, mum's the word where Maple Bars are concerned! [NoNoNo]

In the interests of International Peace and Harmony I must point out the folloing differences between the English Language and what you jolly american chappies speak [Wink]

Crisps (Eng) translates to Chips (American)
Chips (Eng) translates to Frys (American)
Muffin (Eng) does not mean a small cake as in Muffin (American)
****** (Eng) a spicy meatball [Wink] (American) well you know.. mmm ... even the boards auto detection system for abuse has blanked it out too... Think oh singing that WWWI favourite "It's a long way to Tipperary.." and the line 'While you've a Lucifer to light your *** ...'
*** (Eng) a cigarette .. so going outside for a *** doesn't cause raised eyebrows!

there are others that I am sure some of the rest of the boys and gals here can add them to the list..

After all we are said to be two peoples divided by a common language..

Mmm ... perhaps we can introduce him to warm flat real beer????

Oh yeah that's another one for you guys and gals

Beer (Eng) - Dark, Flat and Bitter
Beer (American) - Lager (Eng) Light, Fizzy, can be Sweet

As for maple bars .. well we could drown him in Kebabs with Chili Sauce from our local outlet ... now there's a dish to fire up any MT [Wink]

Hmm...he should be showing up any minute now, all jet-lagged and disoriented. I think some of you UK players owe it to him to jolt him into the proper timescale so that his discussions w/ WotC UK will be more fruitful.

I recommend the following:

Back last time I wan in London in '87, I recall this certain curry joint just off Tottenhem Ct. Rd, about a block or two north of the Virgin Megastore at Oxford St. The name was the 'Neel Akash Curry House'. Little place, very good food at the time.

Tell him that I recommend the 'Prawn Vindaloo Ultra-hot Megadeath 2000". That should jumpstart him sufficiently.

And don't feel guilty...after all, he can get me back for it in two weeks in Chicago. [Wink]

Lugia909,

apart from the prawns that sounds like my kind of Curry ... besides which it can give distinct or should that be De Stink, advantages to play the day after a hot curry ..

It's a kind of mind games [Wink]

america..bar = pub
britain..bar = place with bad music and alco pops.
(for example, bar med)
if inside a pub, then is perfectly acceptable
america..brownie : small rich chocolate cake.
britain..brownie : small deliquant girl chanting mumbo jumbo and wearing strange yellow outfit.

america..fanny : bottom
britain..fanny : something the moderator may well choose to cut out...

can't think of any more for the moment [Smile]

oh....and:

curry (n): the lifesource [Smile]

Well he came he saw and he signed a lot of cards, played a lot of games and dished out some Foil Energys to those that faced him in 1-1 combat across the gym floor.

Can I just thank you guys and gals in the US for lending us MTM and because he was so good we have decided to keep him .... Ha Ha...

Mike will be kept locked in a box (minus sneasel) and brought out to play and adminster signitures at venues up and down the UK.

We appreciate that this maybe stretching the special relationship between our two countrys a little but well he is too good to give back..

Oh and can we borrow DMTM too for a bit... ha ha ha ha ..oops I mean please...

*applauds*

I'm sure everyone who was at the Rainham Challenge yesterday would like to thank MTM/the powers that be for sparing us some of his precious time to battle, patiently explain the state of UK Pokemon and still manage to call a rapid Professor's Rochester Draft without sounding very bored! Many kids/old kids went away very contently with their holo fire/fighting energys in tow, and just as many were jealous at the new promos in his decks which weren't even out in the US yet!

(I want that electabuzz with lightning rod.....
and that lilypad mew......)
grrrrr.

MTM also managed to sign many random cards through the day without repeating a hairstyle...if that ain't impressive, I don't know what is! [Smile] He is now under lock and key in ukpokemonpro's basement, and is fed curry and kebab through a food chute from the take away next door. [Razz]

I would like to point out the errors in the above statement..

The Kebab shop is not next door it is 2 doors away and MTM will be fed a varied diet; not just Curry and Kebab; but one that will also include Chinese and Thai food together with good old Fish and Chips and of course Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding on Sundays.

UK Pokemon players would like to point out that the rumours of MTM being poked with sharp sticks to encourage him to produce more signed cards are not true... it is more of a metal prod than a wooden stick and is electrified not sharpened [Devilish]
