Some of you guys might remember my post back when Aquapolis first came out; a retired player looking to keep up-to-date on the general rules. I'd mentioned that I'd continued to get one pack from each set, despite not playing. Well, at that point I'd actually gotten 2 packs of Aquapolis. And I've got more since, and some older packs, and built decks, and played games. Okay, maybe the "retired" thing has started to wear off, after 2 years.
Strange, there are four or five sets that I can buy and still get mostly brand-new cards. That's actually a huge part of the fun. With my two serious games - Star Wars and Magic - that can't happen, because after a couple of weeks the cards from a new set are all "old". I have a huge variety of Pokemon packs to choose from, and they're all "new".
Anyhow, I guess I need to freshen up on the gameplay rules, and not just "what's been happening". However, I think my newest rulebook was from the Blaine deck waaay back. The shop stocks the decks from Expedition and Aquapolis. I presume they come with rulebooks. I doubt the game will kick off enough for me to worry about Modified; I'm just building decks for fun using all my cards. Which of the new decks would be the best one to get?
Cheers, guys!

Electric Garden is fun to play i.e. not fun to play against. But remember you're not restricted to playing the theme decks only... Aquapolis and Expedition would be the two sets worth working on getting on top of, as Neo may be rotated out later this year.
Hope this helps.

Welcome back...
I can't remember which one for sure, but I believe you need the Electric Garden and/or ROck Garden as in addition tog etting updated rules, you can then get 3 copies of two useful supporters: Copycat and Professor Oak's Research. They mainly replace that single Elm in UNlimimted but for Modfied they are often good draw power.

Like I said, I don't mind things rotating out, I'll just be playing the odd friendly game with what cards I have. There's no chance of Pokemon actually becoming big again around here; it was, but it's moved on a bit, and we're not big enough an environment to support more than four or five major games. Even when it was the main game, I was known as something of a maverick deck builder, so any cool card I get will probably be used. That Dark Crobat I got last week's the Dude in my current deck.
Cheers for the help! I'll probably get one of the Aquapolis decks; the packs I've gotten from that set have been cooler than my Expedition ones. Even if one of them had a moonwalking Flaaffy. One more thing, though; I seem to remember there being one Unown missing from the roster when Neo Destiny was released. Was it Unown R? Has it surfaced since?
