So, my idea for a format:
Evo-Format

Rules (nearly similar to VS)

- All cards can be played as basic Pokémon
- 30 cards per deck
- Allowed cards: Current modified except e1 Venusaur (Harvest Bounty)
- only 2 versions of each card except basic energy cards (up to 15) and special-energy cards (up to 3)

Do you like this idea? Is it playable?

Although I like the Energy card limitations that forces people to use more than one energy type I don't like the "VS"-approach. I want to be able to evolve out of a special condition...

Playable, but watch out, there are many cards in the newer sets, what could do fastly big damage in this evo-format.
Example Ampharos from rev. can easily powered up in the second turn with 4 nrg and then boom, your pokemon are knocked out.
Good idea with many new combos...

Master of Chaos, you are right!
But there would be sooooo many very good cards in this format:

Neo3 ampharos
Neo1 meganium (herbal scent)
Neo3+aquapolis jumpluff
e1: all non-holo versions of the starters

and many more

@ planeton: use full heal/full heal energy!

I know that there are other ways of getting rid of the conditions... But one advantage (apart from higher HP and more powerful attacks) of evolving is that you don't have to waste a full heal energy on a card that can't use colorless energy... Also, I really like the fact that the cards can evolve, to me that's the thing that makes Pokémon TCG stand out (at least compared to MtG etc).

@Planteon

I know, but for another format, that's cool.

@P.p

In the beginning of the game how many cards you have to draw?

Golduck- It wouldn't be to broken. There is nothing to use Genetic Memory on. [Smile]

I don't see this format coming to life, but good creativity.

It's like a high powered evolved pokemon's wish cometrue. Can be broken too easliy. There'll be too many restrictions

I know. That was supposed to be the joke. [Smile] Genetic Memory would be completely useless, and Kingdra would be a horrible Pokémon.

I believe it is that all pokemon are played as basics. They still keep their evolution status and wouldn't be able to be drawed through fan club, like mysterious fossil. Is played as a basic but keeps it's trainer status until played as a basic.
