WotC are releasing English versions of the Japanese Vending cards now and then, but does anyone know how many of them that are still unreleased? Is it likely that all will be released, or are there some of the cards that are too good or bad?

Only 10 have been released so far: 8 Year 3 Promos and 2 in Gym Challenge. There are still tons of unreleased Vending cards left. Let's just hope they'll release more of them in BattleZone.

...and exactly how many are "tons"?
[Wink]

Any of them that you'd especially like to see or not to be released? Is there a "no-no list"?

Erica total 24, thats right, 24.
Dunsprace total 41.
I've gotten 98 on that Machoke at work game. I beat Driving Corasola.
I almost beat the record in Hold Down hip hop. I got 2000 or so in Kinglers day. I got 7 in Rapadash's dash. Butterfree's Flower Power 4700. 123 In Jumping Dodoro. My all foil deck is finished.

Vending is a very imaginative set, with lots of good ideas. Think Base Set and Neo Genesis. The Hypno that Porygone3 mentioned, has a Pokemon Power which enables your Clefairy Dolls (yep, that weird Base Set Trainer) to attack!

And there's a great Haunter there, which has an attack that does "10 damage times the number of Trainer cards in your opponent's hand" for 1 Psychic Energy!

Somehow I can't see these two released as promos, the Hypno only works in Unlimited and the Haunter sounds too good - Promos tend to be average, but usable... [Wink]

The set has a total of 105 cards. Look at this Mr. Mime:

50 HP
Pokemon Power: Neutral damage
As long as Mr. Mime is on your bench, don't apply weakness or resistance to any attacks.

CP: Juggle 10x
Flip 4 coins. This attack does 10 damage times the number of heads.

Retreat: 1
Weakness: Psychic
Resistance: None

And check out this Trainer:

Moon Stone
Trainer
Search your deck for a Colorless Evolution card, put it into your hand and shuffle your deck afterwards.

But there are also many cards that aren't especially good at all. Lots of Basic Pokemon like Zubat, Charmander, Bulbasaur etc which aren't great, but would be nice to get released anyway.

...so 95 cards still left to go...

Maybe WotC could release some of them together with Base/NeoGenesis cards as a "patch"-set between e-cards and ADV (like Legendary Collection was used to glue e-cards to Neo)?

Vending is called in English : Pokemon Safari.

Set has been made in English by WOTC, but it is never released.

I saw the english scans.

Why didn't they release the whole set??

I seem to remember that DMTM said that one souldn't use the name "Safari Zone" for the Vending cards as it was not the TPC/WotC term and thus confusing, but I might be wrong...

They're not real or official, I just translated them and made them into image translations. And no, I can't use the term Safari Zone because it'll confuse people. Why I still have that "Safari Zone" booster pack image is beyond me. Maybe I haven't found something to replace it. [Razz]

Considering that they're releasing them as Promos, I personally don't think they will.... but who knows what's in the dark minds of these Wizards folk. [Wink]

I quite convinced that WotC has no chance of releasing all the Vending cards as a whole set - From what I've gathered on these boards the TPC would never allow that... ...but then again, what do we know, we're not flooded with reliable information, are we?

Well, anything can happen these days:

"Electabuzz couldn't be released in Legendary Collection because TPC don't want it rereleased"
Later: "And the new BZ promo is Electabuzz!"
"Wizards don't like banning cards. They think Sneasel is the only broken card."
Later: "And by the way, Slowking is banned from Modified, ladies and gentlemen!"
"VS cards will never be released in English"
Later: "And the new BZ promo is Rocket's Sneasel, from the Japanese VS set"

"Vending won't be released as a whole set, ever"
Later: ....?

Edited: Oh yeah neither Rocket's Sneasel nor Rocket's Scizor were part of the Vs set. They were promo cards done in the Vs format.

But the rocket's scizor is a basic pokemon-card ... while other scizors are stage 1 ... and that's what the world disliked with the vs-cards: basic pokemon cards of evolved pokemon ...

So are the Shining Pokemon. I don't see anyone complaining about them.

Besides, I seem to remember that people complained about the attacks having little/no variety to them.

I personally don't mind seeing evolved Pokémon as Basic Pokémon. Frankly this is a technique I use often in my own fake cards. VS didn't bother me because of the whole Evo-as-Basics thing, but only because the cards themselves were plain crap.

the point were that the kids wouldn't be very happy if they and everyone and their grandma got a common 80 hp-lance's charizard with almost useless attacks ... at least not as happy as they get when they're one of the few that has shining charizard!
although 80 hp is much for a basic, but it would have to stay alive for a couple of turns before it had been ready to attack ...

or?!
