We just received our BattleZone kits in Colorado Springs. We ordered four kits. Each kit has 16 Classic Promos (Misdreaveous) and 8 "Winner" stamped promos (reverse-foil Electabuzz). The reverse-foil Buzz is like the Let's Play Pichu, and it is stamped with the word "Best" instead of "Winnner."

The prizes are awarded weekly if they are DCI-sanctioned tournaments. They are awarded as follows:

3 "Winner" cards to 1st
2 "Winner" cards to 2nd
1 "Winner" card to 3rd and 4th
1 "Winner" card to the registered Head Judge
1 Classic promo to the top 16 participants

For leagues, players keep track of their wins and loses on a score sheet. You can't play the same person twice in a row. At the end of the season, the top 32 players get the "Winner" promo. The classic promos are given out to each player once they have earned 100 points. Any left overs are given out as seen fit.

That's about all for now.

NoPoke, the kit says to use the 4-set kits during a one-month period. So, I imagine no one would complain if you started using the older Electabuzzes on Dec 1 or later (Most BZ season will probably start the first week of December). I told my players that because the kits arrived yesterday (Friday, Nov 29), they could start using the older Buzzes in my Modified tourney today (Saturday, Nov 30). Some Head Judges might not allow the older Buzzes at their tourney unless they have physically seen a Promo version. Well, I've seen the card, so it's legal at my tournaments. The BZ kit also specifically says that any players who don't earn the promo Buzz can use the older version in tournament play.

OK then! All I need now is my BZ Delegate kits!

I'm running one of my leagues tomorrow, and the other one on Wednesday.

One store ordered 6 kits but only received one... It's enough to get us going though!

The other store is closed at the moment. They were waiting for word from me before ordering, and so we'll be getting those as soon as the order is processed.

I'm looking forward to running this program, a lot.

I wouldn't be totally depending on using that card. The person in charge of the tournament still has significant athority to allow or disallow the card:

This would be my standard. Other judges may be more or less strict.

Hello all...

The Battle Zone kits have arrived to those stores that ordered them here in Wash state.

I saw the kit and the reverse foil 'buzz. The league that got the kits is small and do not conduct tournaments is the normal style. I doubt they have had a DCI Sanctioned Style Tournament in a long time. Perhaps I can help them. Anyway, I am glad the BZ kits have arrived. Like it was said before, I am waiting for my BZ Delegate kit...........

Reverse holo (like promo Entei) scans don't come out well. I'd recommend someone take a picture with a digital camera.

About the only way to overturn a stubborn judge's decision to disallow base set Electabuzz, dispite the fact that a number of locations have reported its arrival, it to have a promo version in-hand with you to show the judge. Any judge CERTAINLY can't argue with that. I imagine WOTC will announce that base set Buzz is now legal in Modified at this week's chat. That will be enough for any head judge to allow it. But, for those wanting to use base set Buzz before Thursday, good luck convincing your local judge.

That would be the other reason I'd let it in. After all, who am I to argue with the MTs? [Wink]

Of course, I'd probably have the card before any of the people in my area anyway, so no biggie there.

*sigh*

The instructions for the Delegate program application are HERE; the agreement itself is HERE.

Please make sure you READ the instructions and all subsequent emails regarding the program before posting more questions; it looks to me like most questions are being asked over and over because people are not reading the information that has been sent out. Hope this helps...

Don't worry about the scan. I saw one at pokemon zeo. Looks sweet. Any way I forgot to ask, was there a JUMBO card with each of the kits? If so, how is it awarded?

To add: what is the oversized/jumbo card? Electabuzz? What is the size: like a boxtopper, or like "Legendary Birds" one?
