DMTM thanks for all you have done for this game and for us. I still remember 4 years ago when my son (8 years old then) kept pestering me for these booster packs called Pokemon. I finally gave in and that started something we can never forget...great memories. Thanks to you, MTM, and all the MT's for providing all those great memories. Wish we could have thanked you in person at GenCon but since we couldn't...THANKS!!! We wish you the best of luck in all your future travels and adventures and hope our paths cross again sometime. Take care. [bow]

Anyway, despite me being not at these boards for several months before coming back, and despite me not playing the TCG anymore (and therefore being only at the RTC/Games forums), and I think on the issue of the boards' survival, Sabin said it best in FF6: "What? You think a little thing like the end of the world was going to do me in?"

I don't really have any quotes/songs/whatever on anything else relating to this thread, but aside from some rough transition, I'd say that the 'Gym being a WotC board was a really good time all around.

I know I haven't been as much of a frequenter here since I started at Pokeschool in March '02, but I have to take this opportunity to say thank you for everything you guys put into the game. There is no way the game would still be going at its current strength without your efforts throughout the years. The various leagues and tournaments, the Professor Program, rulings, all of these were boosted by the MT's. And when it comes down to it, those are the things that MAKE the game. Ever since I got my first few cards in 1999, I always "looked up" to Wizards and the MT's. That's one quarter of my LIFE. Not saying everything went perfectly over the years, but it was definitely a positive experience.
The only things I really wish could have happened is me getting to any of the major tournaments, and possibly meeting some of you. Then again, it's not your fault I live in Pennsylvania...

Simply, the game just won't be the same without you. Yes, Nintendo seems to have it relatively organized, but there is no replacing you guys.
And, following in the line of this thread, here's my song quote, even though this is kinda corny... [Wink]

"Happy Trails"
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you, 'till we meet again.

Thanks for everything! :-D

Who am I gonna Aim with now!

Thanks for listening to our moans DMTM, for the understanding and all the times you and MTM took the 5th (as we grew to see it) on the state of the game in the UK.

Thanks for being there for all of us and fighting our corner when you could.

No Neopets and Risk for me a Nintendo future is starting to emerge out of the heat haze here in the UK... Even so I will still do some FNM and maybe we'll all meet at a GenCon somewhere in the future.

I think this song below sums up what we are all thinking right now. It is Boyz II Men, “It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday”

How do I, say goodbye, to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh, outweigh the bad, ohhh

I thought we'd get, to see forever,
But forever's gone away,
It's so hard, to say goodbye, to yesterday

I don't know, where the road, is going to lead,
All I know, is where we've been, and what we been through, oooh,

If we get to see tomorrow,(ooooooohhhhhhhh)
I hope it's worth all the wait,
It's so hard, to say goodbye, to yesterday.

And I'll take, with me the memories,
To be my sunshine after the rain,
It's so hard, to say goodbye, to yesterday (2x)

Seems like only yesterday I was taking the neighbor kids to this league called Pokemon in the town called LaGrange. Little did I know that one trip would shape and change my life for the next 3 ˝ years. I have seen many people come and go over the years in the leagues, however I think the hardest thing about Wizards losing the license was realizing that I would no longer get to see my friends at WotC anymore at the tournaments.

Over the last 3-1/2 years many things have changed in my life, but one thing has remained the same, running Pokemon and the friends I have met while playing/judging/tournament organizing for this great game.

To everyone at Wizards of the Coast, especially MTM and DMTM, unfortunately all I can do is say THANK YOU. This game wouldn’t have been as much fun and as entertaining without you. I know that many of the other Pokemon faithful along with myself will never realize how much you really have put into this game, you may not even know. However if you hadn’t, we may not have even been able to make it this long. Pokemon is a great game, but only because WotC, MTM, and DMTM have put in long hours making it that way.

Thankfully, this isn’t a goodbye for good, just until Neopets and Duel Masters comes out. Unfortunately, Pokemon will just not be the same without Wizards and the staff being there.

As a maturing adult trying to make heads and tails of this thing called "life", you'd think that Pokémon (a silly kids name) would be the last thing on my mind. But in all honesty, this interest Pokémon has taught me a lot about how life works. In fact I intend to write a book one day called "Everything I Learned About Life I Learned Through My Pokémon Site". [Razz]

Thanks DMTM, MTM, MTP, and the lot for keeping the game alive despite it's "fadness" and keeping my interests perked for the past 4 years. These were some major good times. [Wink]

Hope to see y'all in the future (and at least in NeoPets and Duel Masters!) [Big Grin]

So, here my little voice in a choir of thanks.

I'm relatively new to Pokémon and trading card games, but in 2 years I had a great adventure and some great times with this game, and with all you.
I had fun playing my first game with the starter deck, and I remeber with joy my beloved Team Rocket decks and boosters... and then everything, the Professor Program, my first tournament as a judge (I never played in a tournamnet, i entered Pokémon when I was 15+), and my 1st Prof draft victory wow^^ And then, when our great Wizards italy staff is busy with all the other games, and Pokémon is not supported by them anymore, here me as a Tournament Organizer again, working for a big goodbye Wizards.

And so... Thanks, thanks to everyone who cared about Pokémon TCG in these years. Thanks to MTM, DMTM, MTP, DMTS and every people from Wizards of the Coast. A personal thanks also to the italian staff, Barbara, Ilja, Riccardo, Federico and the others.
Thanks for your love and attentions for the game, thanks for the Organized Play you ran-the greatest ever-, thanks for the Professor Program, the Challenge Series, the great prizes, the formats you created, and so on...

Now a new era for Pokémon is there, the Ruby & Sapphire part is a whole new world.. Which see the light without you, unfortunately.
But, the topic title speaks itself... "Until we meet again" is a good wish [Wink]

My apologies for being out of the loop all summer. I feel like I've missed out on some important stuff.

My apologies for never attending chat. It always started sometime around my dorm cafeteria's suppertime, so I'd go eat and then I'd completely forget about it until sometime after chat had finished.

This thread is reminiscent of signing yearbooks at the end of the school year. Everyone has so many fond memories...

Daniel and I read your post together, then had a lengthy discussion. Without a doubt, WOTC/Pokemon has been a major part of what we share. It has been woven into our lives.

Daniel's main question: Do you think that we'll ever see them (DMTM, MTM, and the rest of the Wizards' staff) again?

I refuse to believe that we may not. The roads of life are so unpredictable. I'm betting that we will meet again. Where? Who knows?

Thank you for being such good role models for my son. Actually, you were also role models for me. When I would find myself getting riled over nonsense, I would look over and see your calm demeaner--and regain my perspective.

Thanks for bringing such enthusiasm, youthfulness, and maturity (quite a combination) to this game that we feel so passionate about.

It's been fun. It's been an education. It's been terrific.

You probably don't know me but I was glad to get your signature & shake your hand at Gencon. Now that I've been on pokegym for 4-5 months I realize how much you've meant to the game & for years, I had no idea. Thank You, DMTM, MTM & all others. You are largely in part of this GREAT game that I have been able to look forward to every Saturday for the past 4 years & hopefully many more. Please visit us at the new gym. [Smile] [Smile]

This is my thanks to WotC and all the MT's.
Though I don't post here very often, I read it every day and have played pokemon since it's arrival in the U.S. I had to because my then 7 year old son just had to learn. Little did I know the fun and adventures we would embark on over the next 4 or so years! Almost all of our family vacations have centered around Pokemon happenings, from the Queen Mary, New Jersey, San Diego STS, World Championships, SBZ's and just recently Comicon, we have had the time of our lives!(yes, we are definitely die hard pokemaniacs!)I sometimes wonder if there was anything else besides pokemon that might have brought my son and I so close together, but I doubt it. I love the game, he loves the game and I think that even in a couple years when he is a teen ager, just having had this connection will keep us close. My son is now 11 and loves this game even more now than he did 4 years ago thanks to you all. We hope to cross paths in the future.
Sincerely,
Lex Luther(Supersaiyaneevee's mom)

Mike,
Thank you for all the good times. Thanks for inviting my son and I to dinner with you, MTM, Sens and the gang. Thanks for the invite to the MBI2. Thanks for the beers and the burnt Sneasels. Thanks for all the effort you put into this game. It went a long way. It helped bring my son and I closer, and gave us many many days of mutual enjoyment. This game just won't be the same without you and the other MT's. This might be a great reason to try out Duel Masters.
Until we meet again my friend.

It's amazing how much a TCG can impact a person's life, but then it's not really the game that is having the impact, it's the people! At the top of that list are a whole bunch of dedicated, fun, sometimes crazy, people from a company called Wizards of the Coast. From the time I stood next to DMTM as a judge at the ECSTS and looked out over a sea of several hundred Pokemon players to the bitter-sweet FAT at ComicCon with MTM and Pat and Damon, the memories will last a lifetime. I'm not even sure you guys realize how big an impact you've had on so many lives. Thanks for the memories! [Wink] [Eek!] [Love] [ROFL] [Evil Smirk] [Big Grin]

It’s been a fun ride with you all (Dark Mike, Mike, Pat, Steve, Dave-theartguy and many others), and I can’t wait till we meet again. This game isn’t just a game to me. It has showed me much much more, showing me things about life, friends, and overall making me a better person. Without the game, I wouldn’t of gotten to know so many people that I know, Team Zeo for example (where we are all spread across the world…).

I remember the first day attending a league at Toys R Us. Season 1, Week 3, Year 1, learning the game for the first time, an experience I wouldn’t forget. Staying out of school for the pre-registration for the first Super Trainer Showdown, to be sure that the right information was given… and actually having MTM the one to register me via phone. All fun times I wouldn’t trade for anything… My quote isn’t anything as good as yours, but it is one that will stick in my mind for a while…

And this TCG has been, with much hard work by the WoTC staff. MT's, my hat is off to you! [bow] You've been super, thank you.

The game will go on, but wow, you're going to be a hard to follow for Nintendo.

And thank you mods [bow] , you've help made the Pokegym here a nice place!

To DMTM and the rest...

Words cannot express how much you guys have made an impact in my life. It was so great watching how everything went down as each set came by. There were many exciting times and I will never forget what you guys have done for us. I feel like I owe a lot to you all and maybe some day I can do something to repay you guys for all those good times.

I wish all of you at Wotc the very best, hope that all goes well in your lives and that nothing ever gets in your way.
