Marill2000 is in deep sedation after pestering DMTM about the green stampers. (No just kidding)
DMTM burned 30 green stampers in celebration for this event. (Now that is true)
All events have been fun so far and even for those who hasn't been too lucky has gotten some darn good stuff. Some professors like me have focused on pick up drafts and modified events in light of Saturday's big event. But a majority have decided to just hang out with the features like Team Modified. There seem to be more 15 and up than 14 and under here so far.
I talked to "MT"Dave (the new OP manager for Pokemon-e by Nintendo), and I learned about the GBA/TCG Challenge (I posted my few thoughts in an existing topic). Also I learned that the Professor Program is going to be tougher to be in. All existing Professors are going to have to retake the test. If you just in the current Professor Program to just play then the new Professor Program will not be for you. It is for those willing to judge and hold events.
The Eon Ticket will be up for grabs on the 19th of July at Toys R Us store for free. Next expansion (Sandstorm) to be released September. New Offical Boards, YES. New Offical Chat, YES. And more promising surprises to come.
Rules for GB Teams in Offical Tournaments: 50 LV or less. 6 Team I think but only 3 in a battle. Play like Pokemon Stadium rules.
Neopets TCG is being Demoed, its fun. Using your pets, you compete in four different contests of abilities. However it heavly requires the use of Dice rolls.
Well that is it for now I'll be back in a few days to tell more!

Sounds exciting! (I can't believe I used that phrase.) Especially EX: Sandstorm. "Desert" sound so passe.
If you can grill any more info out of Dave, that'd be cool. But if not, no problem, what you posted is more than sufficiant to cool our nerves.

Figured I would answer here to stay away from spamming the other topic I had first talked about this on.
Well here is what I found out at Origins. I have in front of me the information the tournament organizers will recieve for the Challenge Series event that everyone is worried about.
The exact dates have not been set but will be available to be run any weekend in August.
This IS NOT the only format Nintendo will be running for tournaments. However I have no idea where Phil got his info because they have not settled what formats will be available for sanctioning and they will announce it once they are able to. But I was assured there are formats for the card game only.
There will be a reported kinda like DCI reporter for TO to use. When asked if it would be able to be used on Gameboy Advanced they said they hadn't thought of that, but probably not.
They will not release info on sets that will be rotated out if any right away. More of the stuff they can't release until later.
The ladder and league are to be separate ways of running the league from what I gathered. Some of the other players that talked to him may be able to clear that up like 'Sensei
Unfortunately I was unable to get on while in Columbus, so I was not able to ask about the age sepparation. The way the TO stuff for the Ruby Saphire Challenge states there is age separation for that event, and it will be age modified swiss pairings. It doesn't however say how those ages are divided.
I was told to stress The combo event format is not perminate, just being used to introduce gameboy players to the Pokemon TCG.
The Professor Program will change very little and TO will still be required to be 18 to sanction tournaments. Also in order to run league it still must be run in a store. No home leagues or anything like that. They are looking at ways to get around this later. But since they supply items for the league they can be held responcible if something happens at a place that has recieved league materials from them.
Also the Toys R us thing is suppose to be nation wide.
If there is anything I forgot to answer please let me know.

I would love for you or someone to ask them if they could write it in JAVA so it can run on Windows or Mac or Linux (and some Palm and WinCE handhelds).
DCI reporter is really useful, but not as useful as it could be considering it only runs on Windows, no handhelds and has an interface that only Dr. Frankestein could love...
Really, reporter is a pretty simple program and could be done really well in JAVA (application style, not applet) and run on everything...except GBA ;-).

Phil: Wizards of the Coast introduced several playing formats to Pokemon Trading Card Game in the past years. Some of them are similar to the DCI Sanctioned Magic Formats. Will we see the basis of these formats continue on with Nintendo?
Pokemon USA: As far as formats go, we don't anticipate much change. The floor rules will be revamped slightly, hopefully making it easier to read while keeping the same spirit of the game. We like the Challenge series from last year, I would expect to see something similar produced by our staff here in the future.

I work at Toys 'R' Us here in Wisconsin, so I'll keep you guys up to date on any news about giveaways and the Pokemon League. Yes, we are giving away Nintendo's Eon Tickets on the 19th. There is also going to be a new Pokemon League held at participating Toys 'R' Us stores. When I find out more I'll post!

[sigh] Those Green Star Stampers... Funny thing to announce though, they are not ALL distoryed... or else how did the Wizards booth that was teaching people how to play their games stamp people's cards with a Green Star (Pokemon League) Stamper?
From what I was able to gather out of (MT) Jimmer and (MT) Schwimmer, The League and Ladder are there own deals, they are not to tie into each other, they are there own separate things. And yes, I did teach the idea of using head/tail dice to Jimmer, he seemed to like it... along with the idea of stampers

Why they testing your loyalties? All you have to do is walk in and get one. It isn't a tournament.

I would think that there will be more chances to get the Eon Ticket, especially since this isn't the first.
Wish I could go to the FAT in SD, but I'll be at Indy 4 sure.

Question for those who attended Origins - Were they handing out any Eon Tickets at the Nintendo booth? If so, then hopefully they'll be passing them out at ComicCon too. If not, then I'll have to have my wife make a TRU run while I'm at ComicCon.

Nope, no Eon Tickets from Origins... although those at ComicCon or GenCon that help them may get a cool nifty GameCube lanyard if you pester Dave... that guy is hard to crack... one person went up to him and goes "I will give you my sole for that!" and then I show up and say "thats cool, can I buy one?" (then he tells me about the person who would sell his sole)... but no eon tickets from origins

An Eon Ticket is a e-card that works the same way as a Pokemon Battle-e Card. After unlocking Mystery Events in Ruby or Sapphire, you can swipe the Eon Ticket the E-reader in a linked GBA through and receive it as a Key Item in your game. The item allows you to have the ship in the game take you to Southern Island and have a one time chance to catch Latias in Ruby Verison or Latios in Sapphire Version. Those Pokemon will hold an Item called Soul Dew which when attached to one of those two Pokemon increases Attack and Special attack. [ July 01, 2003, 10:38 PM: Message edited by: mysterioustrainer ]
