Ok, well there was a big Expedition display at Worlds and here's what I managed to come across...
A set list!
After more than an hour of asking and writing, I managed to get a set list (minus the holos)
1/165 Alakazam 2/165 Ampharos 3/165 Arbok 4/165 Blastoise 5/165 Butterfree 6/165 Charizard 7/165 Clefable 8/165 Cloyster 9/165 Dragonite 10/165 Dugtrio 11/165 Fearow 12/165 Feraligatr 13/165 Gengar 14/165 Golem 15/165 Kingler 16/165 Machamp 17/165 Magby 18/165 Mew 19/165 Mewtwo 20/165 Meganium 21/165 Ninetales 22/165 Pichu 23/165 Pidgeot 24/165 Poliwrath 25/165 Raichu 26/165 Rapidash 27/165 Skarmory 28/165 Typhlosion 29/165 Tyranitar 30/165 Venusaur 31/165 Vileplume 32/165 Weezing 33/165 Alakazam 34/165 Ampharos 35/165 Arbok 36/165 Blastoise 37/165 Blastoise 38/165 Butterfree 39/165 Charizard 40/165 Charizard 41/165 Clefable 42/165 Cloyster 43/165 Dragonite 44/165 Dugtrio 45/165 Fearow 46/165 Feraligatr 47/165 Feraligatr 48/165 Gengar 49/165 Golem 50/165 Kingler 51/165 Machamp 52/165 Magby 53/165 Meganium 54/165 Meganium 55/165 Mew 56/165 Mewtwo 57/165 Ninetales 58/165 Pichu 59/165 Pidgeot 60/165 Poliwrath 61/165 Raichu 62/165 Rapidash 63/165 Skarmory 64/165 Typhlosion 65/165 Typhlosion 66/165 Tyranitar 67/165 Venusaur 68/165 Venusaur 69/165 Vileplume 70/165 Weezing 71/165 Bayleef 72/165 Chansey 73/165 Charmeleon 74/165 Croconaw 75/165 Dragonair 76/165 Electabuzz 77/165 Flaafy 78/165 Gloom 79/165 Graveler 80/165 Haunter 81/165 Hitmonlee 82/165 Ivysaur 83/165 Jynx 84/165 Kadabra 85/165 Machoke 86/165 Magmar 87/165 Metapod 88/165 Pidgeotto 89/165 Poliwhirl 90/165 Pupitar 91/165 Quilava 92/165 Wartortle 93/165 Abra 94/165 Bulbasaur 95/165 Bulbasaur 96/165 Caterpie 97/165 Charmander 98/165 Charmander 99/165 Chikorita 100/165 Chikorita 101/165 Clefairy 102/165 Corsola 103/165 Cubone 104/165 Cyndaquil 105/165 Cyndaquil 106/165 Diglett 107/165 Dratini 108/165 Ekans 109/165 Gastly 110/165 Geodude 111/165 Goldeen 112/165 Hoppip 113/165 Houndour 114/165 Koffing 115/165 Krabby 116/165 Larvitar 117/165 Machop 118/165 Magikarp 119/165 Mareep 120/165 Marill 121/165 Meowth 122/165 Oddish 123/165 Pidgey 124/165 Pikachu 125/165 Poliwag 126/165 Ponyta 127/165 Qwilfish 128/165 Rattata 129/165 Shellder 130/165 Spearow 131/165 Squirtle 132/165 Squirtle 133/165 Tauros 134/165 Totodile 135/165 Totodile 136/165 Vulpix 137/165 Bill's Maintenance 138/165 Copycat 139/165 Dual Ball 140/165 Energy Removal 2 141/165 Energy Restore 142/165 Mary's Impulse 143/165 Master Ball 144/165 Multitechnical Machine01 145/165 Pokemon Nurse 146/165 Pokemon Reverse 147/165 Power Charge 148/165 Professor Elm's Training Method 149/165 Professor Oak's Research 150/165 Strength Charm 151/165 Super Scoop Up 152/165 Warp Point 153/165 Energy Search 154/165 Full Heal 155/165 MooMoo Milk 156/165 Potion 157/165 Switch 158/165 Darkness Energy 159/165 Metal Energy 160/165 Fighting Energy 161/165 Fire Energy 162/165 Grass Energy 163/165 Lightning Energy 164/165 Psychic Energy 165/165 Water Energy
So the set is 165 cards total with a foil parallel of each card in the set. The foil is like the Japanese Southern Islands refractor holos.
The Set is known as Expedition Base Set. The WOTC reps at the display told me info about upcoming card-e sets but its too early to tell about anything yet.
Boosters will consist of 9 cards:
1 Rare 1 Reverse Foil 2 Uncommons 5 Uncommons
Since the dot-code technology costs more to produce, Wizards decided to cut 2 cards from the boosters so that they didnt need to raise the booster price. (Theme decks stay the same though)
There will be 2 Theme decks:
Echo (Psychic & Colorless) Features Alakazam on the front
and
Electric Garden (Lightning & Grass) Features Vileplume on the front
Each deck contains 60 cards + 1 Random Reverse holo
The back of the decks state that there are 3 Rares in each deck. (But they will be non foils)
Boosters:
Boosters will be 9 cards and they feature Blastoise, Charizard, Venusaur, and I think Feraligatr on them. The art for the packaging is done by the Pokemon Art director and everything's orange. Its really neat.
The set itself has 70 rares (32 foil, 38 nonfoil) There will be Basic Energy and Reprints of Darkness and Metal Energy. (both non holo)
The supporter rule is in use in this set. It reads:
You may only play 1 Supporter each turn. If you play this card, put it next to your Active Pokemon and discard it at the end of your turn.
or something like that...
One card, Power Charge has the same exact art and wording as Energy charge- but with a different name! That means you can have 4 of each of those suckers in your deck!
Pokemon Powers are now broken up into Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies.
Reader Info:
The Card-e Reader is due in September. Only like 300,000 or something like that will be shipped then and then more will come in December.
The Reader will come with:
Reader Machop Machoke Machamp 1 Animal Crossing card 1 Kirby Card
and umm I think thats all the info I gots.
If you have any questions about what the cards do, I'll try to answer. Sorry I couldn't write up a whole spoiler- was too tired.
Oh and starting with the 1st Card-e Promo, they'll be numbered starting with 1 again like there was in Japan.
~soslow
EDIT: How to tell the difference between Reverse Holofoil holos and reverse holofoil non holos...
Reverse Holofoil Holos will not only have the higher number, but the Blue E on the bottom left corner will be white instead of blue.
Its hard to see in some of the scans...
Also, where is the Energy in this set?? [ September 02, 2002, 10:11 AM: Message edited by: Soslowpoke ]

Were the Metal and Darkness energies in the display Rare?
Were either of them holo?
Thanks

Scyther_trainer: Were the Metal and Darkness energies in the display Rare?
Yup. They changed rarity of it to rare. I'm wondering what rare got switched to uncommon to replace it....
Were either of them holo?
Nope... the ones in the display case were pre-production examples. They were uncut and didn't even have backs on them.

Do you know if the card backs will stay the same, or are they even sure yet?
Does the Card Reader have a suggested retail price yet?
Which trainers out of that list are supporters?
Thanks in advance for the help. [ August 06, 2002, 12:57 PM: Message edited by: BronzeGrowlithe ]

BronzeGrowlithe: Do you know if the card backs will stay the same, or are they even sure yet?
Nope, they'll have the same backs. I don't think Wizards would ever do something idiotic like changing the card backs...
The other two questions I have no answer for.

165 reverse holos - minimum 5 boxes to complete the set. Why is that? Either - let's make collectors to spend more so that the game survives, or - let's get everyone busy for the next six months when E-2 (maybe) comes out. Any other thoughts?

Nick: HSSSS! Let me answer questions! =\
The Darkness and Metal Energy will both be nonfoils.
SRP for the reader is $34.99 I believe...
The Supporters are (in no particular order):
137/165 Bill's Maintenance 138/165 Copycat 142/165 Mary's Impulse 145/165 Pokemon Nurse 148/165 Professor Elm's Training Method 149/165 Professor Oak's Research
Strength Charm is a Pokemon Tool, and Multitechnical Machine01 is a Technical Machine.
Energy Removal2 is just ER with a coin flip and Pokemon Reverse is Gust of Wind with a coin flip.
If you think this set is big and will take forever to collect, wait till you see how big the next set will be...

Poke-Bodies are derrived from Pokemon Powers. They are Pokemon Powers that have effects on the Pokemon that have that Power. So if Jungle Mr.Mime were to be in Expedition, its Pokemon Power Would be a Poke-Bodie. Pokemon Powers that are more optional like Gengar's Curse are Poke-Powers. The big difference between Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies are that Poke-Powers stop working when the Pokemon with them are affected by a Special Condition while Poke-Bodies are always on.

70 rares??? No point in selling this set in boosters, a box will be minimum for everyone...
If you want to get all cards you'll need at least 2 boxes even if you're devil of a trader, more likely 4 boxes will be the minimum as you may actually want to have two or more of some of the cards.
As for the reverse foils, if you REALLY want to get all of them, then just go ahead and buy a case... The question is why though, they're really awful to play with ("Aaargh, I'm blind, I can't see").
Is it still 36 boosters in a box? (in that case the new boxes will be slightly smaller).
At least one of the Japanese e-cards (promo Celebi?) has an extra attack that ONLY shows up when you drag it through the card-reader. Any info if there are cards like this in the Wizards set? If so, can you use that "hidden" attack in tournaments, and if so, do you need to have the card-reader??? I sincerely hope that Wizards haven't included any cards with "hidden" attacks in the set, it could give unfair advantage to those who spend the extra $$$ on the card reader (I won't)! How elite this set will be! I can't wait for the Professor Oak's Research Supporter card to come out. Too bad it doesn't discard.
Anyway, does Muk turn off all 'Pokémon Powers/Bodies'? Kind of confusing I think.

Well Justin Ziran told me that there are 165 reverse foils in the set so I assume that includes Energy.
The reverse foils are like the Japanese Southern Islands cards. Or like the Magic foils as people have been telling me.
The reverse foils will not have barcodes on them since the foil messes it up.
So a Pokemon Power and Poke-Power are the same thing? Muk can shut them both down etc?
I don't know, I forgot to ask about that one, I'll look into it though.
70 rares??? No point in selling this set in boosters, a box will be minimum for everyone...
Heh, I made a mistake- 72 rares :-D
The reverse foils are easier to read though..
Is it still 36 boosters in a box? (in that case the new boxes will be slightly smaller).
Yes, there are still 36 boosters in a box. The boxes are just a bit smaller now.
Well due to the number of readers that will be available in September (200,000 or something) I would definately say they will not be doing that. As for the Wizards's set, they're still in the development stage for that set and haven't decided whether or not that set will be E Compatible.
Question: Did they have any of the e-cards at worlds to see?
Yes they did. They had about 100 of the e-cards (didn't have any of the regular holofoils, basic energy, and were missing quite a few uncommons)
They also had the 2 theme decks and a booster display on display, along with the reader.
When the nintendo reps had spare time, they took some of the cards on display and put them through the reader and found some really odd games (Including a Jynx game that has no controls @_@)
