Well I am just back from 4 days of hard work and fun at UK GenCon.
Although I spent most of my 12 hour shifts working reporter for Main and Side Pokemon Tourneys and Harry Potter, Star Wars and Football Champions as well!!
Phew what amazing days they were and the evening play was fun too.. including MTMs free midnight drafting madness .. 28 players no energy cards and a Sharpie Marker Pen !! Plus rules changes, musical chairs and NO Decking ..
Thanks to Freddy K for that wednesday night stint in the Hotel Bar where we played till 2am and Freddy was flipping heads like a god.. someting he then failed to do for the rest of the weekend!
Thanks to NoPoke who pulled me out of a hole a when I forgot to tick the Pokemon Scoring System box and we had to rekey 3 rounds for 2 tourneys.
And very special thanks to WotC UK and Lee Singleton in particular for putting up with us lot amongst 750 magic players and 100+ L5R players shouting their battle cries..
And tanks to those MtG Judges who treated us like one of their own and steered us in the right direction.
I hope to post Pics and reports soon..

Interesting, we had the opposite problem with the reporter at GenCon US-a bug kept kicking all the other events into alternate Pokemon scoring.

Well we were lucky to have a beta version of 2.2.3se for reporter so the team event could be done on there as well.
Strange that we couldn't get either 2.2.3se or 2.2.2c to save the local players list... that made re-keying the tournaments a real pain!!
any ideas..?? [ September 01, 2002, 10:45 PM: Message edited by: ukpokemonpro ]

Though tounge-in-cheek my quip about using pencil and paper is probably the reason why I'm aware of some of the quirks within reporter. It always helps to have an idea of what the standings should look like after each round rather than having total faith in the computer.
MTM had mentioned that the current standings appeared to be for match-play. At first I thought this was just another quirk in the latest beta version.... So I looked at the standings. Oh dear there was no evidence of anyone receiving a timed win. But I knew that at least one of my players should have only received 2 points and not the full 3. So I reported this to MTM.
(I had not taken much interest in the standings as they were posted within the players area from which I had already beeing ejected once.) [ September 03, 2002, 12:46 AM: Message edited by: NoPoke ]

Speaking of DCI reporter... The standings for the Professor tournament have been received by the DCI website..
GenCon Professors Challenge 9/1/2002 Format: Pokemon - Constructed Status: Received Location: "GenCon UK, Olympia" London England Coordinator: Lee D Singleton Phone Unavailable Place Name 1 Iain Kendall 2 Michel Delhausse 3 John Hawkins 4 Roald Coucogne 5 Graeme S Gleaves 6 Faisal Khan 7 Nitish Doolub 8 Craig Ting 9 Adam Parsons 10 Jacob Christiansen 11 Nigel C Edney 12 Michael From 13 Martin Banham 14 Ian Elliot 15 Henna Charry 16 Ben W Ward
Spot something wrong? It's the standings from after the SWISS rounds, before the top eight!! Is there anything that can be done to change this now? I have emailed Lee...i don't want to lose out on my DCI points, and the one win I'll ever have

I think you are right SB. If the playoffs are part of the tournament then the standings after the playoffs should take preference.
Maybe they will enter the finals as a separate tournament?

Mmm, not sure what happened there I was not entering the data on the professor tourney.
Still the results from the Top 8 just needed keying in.

Hi Ben and Nitish,
After checking out what you mentioned, I found the top 8 results and have passed them along to be keyed in. Sorry for the error and thanks for pointing it out.
Normally, if this sort of thing happens, just write in the full details to [email protected] (include the date and location of the event) so we can fix it.
Thanks!
MTM
