Thanks to SNESWhiz for pointing me towards this page. There are some GREAT articles here: http://www.wizards.com/dci/judge/main.asp?x=judge/articles ; yes, they are mainly about Magic tourneys, but the judging situations will show up in Pokémon events, also. Definately worthwhile reading, IMHO!

Articles I found especially helpful are: Five Things Judges Should Never Do; Judges as Educators, not Enforcers, of the Rules; The Warning System and You; Sleight of hand, Sleight of Mind: A mini-guide to sleight of hand tricks.; Tips, Tricks, and Hints for Running a Successful Event; Keeping your Cool; God and Gaming.

I haven't had time to read ALL the articles on the list, but these are ones I've found very interesting and possibly helpful as a TO/Judge/Professor.

Hope this helps!

Some of the good articles are written by Dorian, a Magic TO who was at the NJ Stadium event. She gave me several pointers of things to do and not to do when given out rulings.

That site is a great reference site for new Judges and makes interesting reading at times. I find the articles to be the best.
