You are absolutely correct. I mis-visualized the schema.
I do find, by the way, that my son has learned a lot of math via Pokemon--mainly probabilities. He has developed his own intuitive skill--augmented by Pascal.
I too look forward to meeting you--and everyone else.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you before I forget again. Quite a few people have been responding. I would also like to thank Crobat 1 and FHE for all the help with probability (now if once my Clac 3 class ends I might have time to use it ). Finally, for anyone reading this who is in school: take lots of math courses! And not just the general ones either

Okay Guys and Gals,
I cannot contribute to the maths debate as I am getting a headache just thinking about it but I do think pre-organising your deck in anyway shape or form can be seen as dubious.
This "deck weaving" does seem to take away the random nature of the shuffle.
For me I shuffle the deck for the full minute and then offer it for my opponent to either shuffle or cut, their choice. Between games I randomise the deck by dealing 3 or 5 piles of cards face down (counting to check the deck is complete). I will then put the piles together one on top of the other and then shuffle the deck three times.
All this is done without looking at the cards and seems to result in a truely randonm result! Sometimes it is a pig of a draw but mostly it works out alright.
