Yippie. Our forum is up...
Anyway, I have a question. If an attack hits "your opponent's Benched Pokémon" in Team Multiplayer Format, do you only do damage to the bench of the opponent who's active you attacked, or could you do the damage to both opponents bench? The rules are a bit grey in this area... I could use some clarification.
Also, could you attack your team mate? I know this sound stupid, but think about it. Promo smeargle could just paint your team mate to the opponents weakness. My guess is that the answer is no... but what do you think?

I would asume only the bench on the Pokemon you attacked.
While "Paint"ing your teammate is a kewl idea... I would think not. Just think of your teammate and you as one person, you cant attach yourself, unless you are confused

I have the same question, and I think the answer should be yes. My reason behind thinking this: some attacks say to attack your opponent's bench. Well in a team battel you have two opponents, and since the cards were only written for singel players, we need to add an (s) when opponent is in the text. This is true with Pokemon Powers likes Slowking were anytime your Opponent(s) play a trainer card you get to filp to see if they can use use it or if it goes on the top of their deck. Stadium cards also effect everyone in play, on just the person across from you. So if your attack says to do damage to your opponent, should it not do damage to your opponents's Pokemon?

I'm guessing it's just yours (or your partners!) and the opponent you are targeting. Everything seems to be targeted against one opponent.
Although I don't know about self-bench damage - can you choose your partner for self damage, or does it have to be you? [ March 14, 2002, 11:06 AM: Message edited by: TrainerJL ]

Self-bench damage should go on the player actually attacking. Damage to bench of opponent should go only on the opponent actually being attacked.
Most Pokémon Powers are not directly aimed and so aren't directly affecting only one player.
As far as attacking your teammate...uh, no.

Unless it says for each Pokémon in play, then you would flip and attach damage as appropriate to each and every Pokémon in the team battle of all 4 players (or whoever is left), such as Trample and Battle Frenzy.
