Okay, I just received a couple e-mails explaining the 2002 Pokemon Professor Championship at Origins and 2002 Wizards/Professor Challenge at Worlds. I hope nobody minds if I post some stuff about it here, well here goes...
I must say that the prizes are really cool. Here is what they are:

1st place = Pokemon Professor Jacket
24 Neo Boosters
Pikachu World Collection
Complete set of Neo Revelation Holos (1st edition)
50 foil energies for each of the 6 basic energy types
2nd= 36 Neo boosters each
Pikachu World Collection
Complete set of Neo Revelation Holos (1st edition)
25 foil energies for each of the 6 basic energy types
3rd-4th place = 36 Neo boosters each
Pikachu World Collection
Complete set of Neo Revelation Holos (1st edition)
10 foil energies for each of the 6 basic energy types
5th-8th place = 36 Neo boosters each

9th-16th place = 24 Neo boosters each

Also, according to the 2002 Pokemon Professor Championship at Origins, the boosters packs for Rochester for Top 8 will depend on product availability. Here is what was mentioned:

If this product is not readily available then the following other product combinations will work:

One last thing, for the 2002 Wizards/Professor Challenge at Worlds, professors (who volunteer for at least 4 hrs) can gun-sling it out against other WOTC staff members/employees in an Unlimited Constructed Format. Here is what was mentioned:

What type of tournament is this?
This will be an Unlimited Constructed non-sanctioned tournament where you will get to compete against your fellow Professors as well as against Wizards of the Coast employees! Each Wizards of the Coast employee that participates will have a bounty placed on him or her. If you meet and manage to defeat any Wizards of the Coast employee during this tournament you will collect their bounty. Bounties can include promo cards, product, and other Pokemon merchandise.
What are the Unlimited format rules?
Unlimited decks may consist of cards from all Pokémon card sets and all promotional cards released by Wizards of the Coast. New card sets are allowed in Unlimited tournaments as soon as the product is available.

No. I'm sorry all those Maple Bars are much too valuable for me to use them as a bounty.
You will have to win some lesser stuff from me like Foils or packs or something if you beat me.
Hmm need to think of a good bounty...
Anyone have any ideas?

I think Vending Gengar promos would be a great bounty, DMTM!! . . .I should get realistic though. Foils and Packs are cool prizes. I hope that all the Wizards people don't have the same prizes to diversify the bounties. This sounds like a great tournament. I hope I can attend!

- 1st-Ed Base Set packs (If you people actually still have some left)
- WotC online store credits
- Plenty of Neo packs, or better yet, boxes

Ooooo, I always liked the idea of being a bounty hunter But the only way I can go to Worlds is if one of my siblings wins a trip (like thats gonna happen ) or I win the Prof. Championships. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

Looks like an unlimited one. Hmm. I'm a bit rusty in that particular format. I think MTM picked it just because of that...yeah...yeah it's all about me! ![[Razz]](tongue.gif)

I've never really cared for unlimited. Now we get to see tons of decks using 4 ER, 4 SER, 4 CPU, you get the idea. Curse you MTM! Why couldn't you just make it New Modified?? Guess I might as well make a FTKO deck since everyone else will...

Bounty-
Anything that the normal collector doesn't get his hands on, like the Chinese boosters (got the whole set now!).
Like- New promos, misprints (square cuts), uncuts, Prerealeas Raichu (ha! doesn't exist ![[Wink]](wink.gif) ), or anything you can sneak out of MTM's office. You know, name plates, coffee cups, anything labeled CONFIDENTIAL
But seriously, any WOTC logo stuff is welcome to commemorate our trip.
And you really do need a Maple Bar Banquet. Put to rest all those "what is it?" questions.

How about you make an "unofficial" signed one of a kind promo made by the Great DMTM himself. I think everybody likes foils, so you're safe with that idea. I liked the idea of the foil energies as prize support too. If it's not too hard, how about a foil signed card of the winner's choice? I really can't wait to go now. I just hope I can make it to Worlds.

Hey you should have the winner of the whole thing have 2 secret maple bars stored in the jocket as an additional secret prize.
Bounty prizes. Well here is my suggestion:
Beat a MT: 6 Pack of his/her choice
Beat a member of TC: 3 promos of his/her choice
Beat any other staff member: 3 promos of what is choosen by the person who's bounty you collect.
You collect 5 or more bounties: 16 packs of his/her choice
You collect 10 or more bounties: Add on 10 promo's of his/her choice
You collect all the bouinties:
A box of neo destiny,6 of each promo and a shot at dmtm in a best of 3 showdown for 6 maple bars.
Thats my suggestion on bounty prizes
I think DMTM,MTM,MTP,Pokesensei ans all memebers of TC should all make promos that are exclusive to this tourney and award them to trainers as bouty prizes.

This has probably already been qualified, but professors can just turn up, find you guys (somehow, somewhere - many bothans will die to bring us this information I forecast ![[Smile]](smile.gif) )
, work four hours, then play in the tourney the next day? Will there not be massive carnage in people trying to battle the bounty guys?

Well now, those are some good ideas for bounties. I don't know if it was mentioned yet but the 2002 Wizards/Professor Challenge at Worlds is a two day event, so why not split the 4 hrs into 2 hrs per day.
Also, it appears that at Origins, the Rochester Draft is "not set in stone" as the regular draft (it's posted in elsewhere places that it will be Gym Heroes/Challenge), so any chance of playtesting out LC for Rochester? Wouldn't that be a cool surprise.
One more thing, with LC designed for drafting, anyone else think that Holo-drafters will become more frequent as opposed to Rare-drafters? The only reason not to Holo-draft is when your at a big event and could win tons of cool stuff. I know some people will draft to at least get their money's worth, and some want a good deck to win. I'm usually between the two. Just some food for thought.

You could allow 1 basic mulligans (to hinder the power of FTKO), either that or E.Puff and E. Dratini (one of few pokes that can survive the FTKO atempt), will dominate.
Some of these suggestions for prizes are a little overboard.
How about if a person can collect all the bountys they get a tour of Wizards (if TC is in it, it will be next to impossible to collect all the bountys anyway)?
I look forward to meeting all the competi.... I mean fellow Professors.

Hmm...some interesting bounty choices.
There will be different bounties for different MT's I'm sure. Just need to figure out what will be cool without being too ridiculous.
Is foreign Base/Jungle something that is kind of cool?
Set of Box toppers?

Which set is most sought after?

Lol, one time, at the Wizards store we had an anti-sneasel tourney. It was really fun and I ended up coming in 2nd place losing to a lousy steelchansey/slowking deck =/. Which reminds me, if you don't like all the trainers running rampant in standard, PLAY SLOWKING! Sadly, the only way I'll be able to attend is if I win at the WCSC =/ (wish me luck!). Make sure all professors going to Worlds type up reports! See you all at Origins!
