I know several of our younger professors who are still in High School have community service hours to earn for scholorships/graduation/diffrent diplomas etc. I should know, I have twenty five hours this year and seventy five more to go before senior graduation.

Do you think it would be feesible to make judging a community service? Judges work for free (unless you judge some Magic tournaments) besides getting some freebies from WotC for helping OP.

Well... thats what my brother did. One of his classes asked for 10 Hours of Community Service. Seeing as I'm a TO, he asked his teacher if that would count. His teacher accepted it and all I had to do was sign off for him when he Judged.

Just check with the Teacher or school first to make sure it counts.

Pokemon Judging may not be the standard means of community service, but it sure as heck beats some of the other things I've done. Sounds like a great idea.

well, when i was in high school, i could only get community service hours for volunteer for non-profit organizations, so i dont think judging would of worked for me, but you can try asking you school.

Sounds like a cool idea, I might have to get some service done in the new few yrs of high school, I'll keep this in mind.

I got 132 hours from League and organizing, I didn't specifically state I helped with a Pokémon league, rather I stated that I: "helped organize and run a child-participation league where activites were held under parent permission for kids. These activites helped the children who attended develop their critical thinking and communication skills." [Big Grin]
