Once again we in the U.K. are getting short changed again.I refer to the great Battlezone kits which are noticeable by their absence! I am one of a handful of Professors and M/Professors that are struggling to keep Poke tournaments alive in the U.K. and getting precious little support from Wizards U.K. Every time I've phoned to speak to Lee Singleton recently he's more elusive than the scarlet pimpernel! We need the Battlezone kits and we need them now!! We cannot keep O.P. going without support.Battlezone was launched back in December and it is now February with no sign of anything! Furthermore Euro Gencon is just around the corner with (you've guessed it!)no mention of Pokemon whatsoever. We are getting increasingly hacked off with trying to preserve the game we love when Wizards seem to be hellbent on destroying it in the U.K.and taking the [edit] out of us, the few Profs/T.O.'s that keep O.P. going! Sorry if I've ranted and raved but this is something that I feel damned strongly about.Come on Wizards, give us some help!!

Hello The GameHHH6662:

I have an e-mail into Lee regarding this very issue, and as soon as I hear something, as he seems to be pretty good about answering my e-mails. I will phone him Sunday if I don't hear from via e-mail tomorrow, Saturday.

I ask you all to hang in there just a bit longer, I will get to the bottom of it.

Take Care,

So true, Martin's rant here is something I would have done myself earlier but for Marsh taking up our cause again. But it is true unless we get some support soon I can't see any of us bothering to fight for our forth year running we are getting tired and [edit] off here with it.. and the lack of response for WotC US isn't helping either. Like I have said before it's no good telling us to talk to the local office when they don't answer emails, don't answer or return phone calls and don't seem to care [Frown]

We were promised these kits in January, the reason we never got anything from year 3 was so that we would start BZ on time. That is what we were told.. and that promise has been broken and with it has gone the trust we were re-building between ourselves and WotC UK.

It is no good promising if you do not deliver, it is no good just keeping quiet when we need information and it is really galling to be told to speak to the local office and that the US know s nothing of what is happening in the UK and yet seems to know exactly what is happening in ITALY!

As language is no barrier to exchanging information between the US and the UK I take it attitude is the problem here .. ie nobody cares ..

Gotta say that after last years UK GenCon mess this year looks like a disaster. We are 2 months away from it and the dis-organised play manager in the UK is afraid to commit to it because of the ongoing licensing negotiations.. at least in Europe they continue to act whereas here in the UK WotC continue not to act.

So there have been no advertising, no promotion and no judges/professors booked.. this for a 4 day event where time off work will need to be booked so that we can attend.

And the response from our fellow players, professors and master professors elsewhere in the world seems to be that we in the UK are ranting again for no reason... apart from Marsh and a few others .. thanks guys and gals.. who have been extremely supportive.

We cannot sustain another year with no OP support Lee has done some really positive things that I don't want to lose but without kits, without promo's and without hope Pokemon OP is dead in the UK.

Is it possible to find a website who'll sell league kits? If that's allowed of course.

Nothing much to add to what 'pro and TheGame have stated so far but I wholeheartedly agree with their comments.

I need to know details to advertise in a magazine that, to use an analogy, is to Pokémon fans in the UK what 'Scrye' is to the US TCG players. The deadlines for advertising things such things like Pokémon at European GenCon, the SuperBattlezone that we have no support for from WotC-US nor WotC-UK (sorry, but not helping us is not helping us whichever way you look at it) is coming up and I have no information to pass on at all.

WotC-UK seem to again fail and acknowledge what we are actually doing for the game here. Work is done using our time, money and efforts. We work hard as Professors here and it's not fair, period, to have an organisation that purports itself to being professional making and breaking promises over months if not years.

If people can't do their jobs, can you get new people to do them instead?

Who is in charge of WotC-UK? Maybe they ought to know about what's going on. Just a suggestion.

Pokemon in the UK...

Year one: canceled at season 6

Year two: petered out at season 5 (took 2 years to get to season 5)

Year three: canceled

Year Four: Promised January start. We are still waiting

=============

Players: We are now down to the dedicated few who won't give up regardless of how they are treated. Everyone else has got the message being sent by WotC LOUD AND CLEAR. Support for OP in the UK has been poor in the past and shows no sign of change.

Well,I for one,am not going to just roll over and die!Sorry for starring inappropriate words but you've got to understand the intensity of feeling here! We(ukpokemonpro,Freddie K,nopoke, myself and one or two others)work damned hard week in week out holding tourneys, leagues etc and generally trying to keep pokemon alive in the U.K. with NO support. If this situation occurred in the U.S.A. can you imagine the uproar it would cause? The gaming comunity would lynch Wizards! But because it's the little old U.K. nothing's done!We have tryed to work alongside Wizards but they just dont want to play ball! This week I will be phoning in to get some answers(and bypassing our regular contact)from the head of Wizards or indeed Hasbro!Perhaps if Hasbro actually hear what's going on they might act!especially if they realise that due to lack of support from Wizards U.K. the kids that play pokemon and who would normally progress through to MTG will gradually drift away and stop buying the cards and thus take a chunk of profit away!! O.K. second rant over!! [Frown] [Frown]

Hey thanks Marsh, nice to know someone cares!I know you have been a friend and supportor to us here in the U.K. and if you can get some answers then more power to you!I really hope something can be done as it is no exageration to say that Pokemon O.P. will be dead very soon otherwise!I hope someone will listen at Wizards/Hasbro but I'm not sure that anyone there has the backbone to help us!

This is what happens when we get no information can't contact anyone, calls are not returned, emails unanswered and promises made are broken.

Now I caught Lee on AIM last night and he has confirmed that the kits have shipped sometime between last week and Yesterday?? He is getting the shipping number today and we should get an answer on when soon.

Even if they shipped yesterday I would expect the kits to be with Lee by end of next week.

He is then looking to ship them out on a 3 weekly basis so that we can play catch-up again!

I suggest we await the kits but polish the big shiney red button just in case this promise is not met too. [Bored]
