Just curious: When the Trainer-card: Pokemon Park (stadium) is active, does the player HAVE to remove a damage counter? I'll use the Jumpluff as the example: If you place a Rainbow Energy on Jumpluff - would you HAVE to remove the damage counter. Thanks.

I would think yes.... but here is a trick with Rainbow and Poke Park.... If you control the stadium, you choose which effect goes first since Poke Park (If Pokemon is benched) and Rainbow damage go at the same time. So if you played the Park, choose to remove the counter first (even if there isnt one) then place the counter from Rainbow. If it is your opponents, then you resolve your effects first, Place the counter, then remove it.

As you may have guessed by now - I would be playing AGAINST an AQ Jumpluff. So, if I play it on my turn and the opponent plays an Energy or Rainbow Energy on Jumpluff - would s/he HAVE to remove it?

quote: Once during each of his or her turns, whenever a player attaches an Energy card from his or her hand to 1 of his or her Benched Pokémon, he or she removes 1 damage counter, if any, from that Pokémon.
Damage removal is not optional.
If your opponent attaches a Rainbow while your Pokémon Park is in play, a damage counter is placed on Jumpluff (Active effect first) then a damage counter is removed (Defending effect second).
