Now I know for a fact that an old ruling was that poison accumulated at the "end of your turn" which is before "between" turns so GB would not save you from poison if you - say - had 50 HP, 40 damage and were poisoned because the poison would resolve before the GB could be triggered. Now I see in chat, and I also checked on the compendium, that now poison and burned and all that is considered between turns (actually after your turn but before your opponent's turn) and you can choose when to trigger the GB. You can even choose to trigger it between two instances of a same effect (like taking damage from 2 dark energies on a non-dark pokemon). When the heck did they do that? It references the genesis rules but I remember this was not the way it used to be because poison before GB and the steel ruling on R Zapdos were so controversial. Am I getting senile? Does anyone else remember this? Don't get me wrong, I like this "new" ruling - i think it is more in the spirit of what GB was intended - but darn it I need to KNOW these things!

From what I recall, Poison/Char/Burn were always after your turn. For a while it was Darkness energy that was "at the end of your turn" so Gold Berry couldn't save you from Darkness poison, but they fixed it so now Gold Berry can.

The thing is, before Genesis, it didn't matter. There was no "between turns". Oh sure, Poison damage was "after the turn" and asleep flip was "before the turn", but there was no defined "between turns" until Genesis.
Once Genesis hit and the Marril promo with it's rules additions came out, all was as it is now.
