Here's a quote from the popular card Berry.

quote:
At any time between turns, if there are at least 2 damage counters on the Pokemon Berry is attatched to, you may remove 2 of them and discard Berry. At the start of each turn, if there are at least 2 damage counters on the Pokemon Berry is attatched to, remove 2 of them and discard Berry.
Did you catch the glitch?

Here it is: In the first line, it states "At any time between turns." So, you could use this card after this turn or after your opponent's upcoming turn, right? Now, the last part of the card states "remove 2 of them." It does not state "you may"; it just says to do it. Therefore, unless you have less than 2 damage counters on the Pokemon this is attatched to, you MUST discard this at the end of this turn.

Here's a scenario, to clear it up.

Let's say that you have a Base Set Magikarp with 20 damage on it and your opponent has a Base Set Electabuzz. Obviously your Magikarp is a sitting duck, but you want to save it. You draw a Berry. You attatch it to Magikarp. Now, let's say that you change your mind and you don't want to use it after this turn (for some odd reason). Now, it seems to me that you wouldn't have a choice, because Magikarp has 2 Damage Counters on it and, since it is the START OF YOUR OPPONENT'S TURN, you must use it, because it does not say "you may," it just says to do it.

That's right the card allows it to be activated under 2 different situations. Any time between turns is as you stated that point in time after the end of your turn and before the start of your opponent's next turn. This period of time is when Posion damage occurs, Burn damage is checked, flip to see if Asleep Pokémon awake, Paralyzed Pokémon stop being Paralyzed, Char damage is checked, and Darkness energy damage to non-Dark types/doesn't-have-"Dark"-in-its-name Pokémon is done. At any point amount those events you can active Berry (and Gold Berry & Miracle Berry) if the conditions are met. But at the start of your opponent's turn, if the conditions are met, you must activate it.

I don't quite understand where the betrayel comes in. Unless you mean it forces you to heal in some situations in which you might not want to (Rage attacks, Damage Shift, whatever), but those situations ar rare. By the way, sorry for ending that first sentence with a preposition.

And, because of that last sentence, a Player CAN'T forget to play it. It HAS to be played at that time, if the conditions are met. Both Players are resonsible for making sure this happens.

(Judging pet peeve of mine)

Well, this card could still be very confusing to newbies and others. I mean, why give 2 situations? Each break between turns is the START of a turn and the END of a turn.

Also, I just now realized that I have been playing this card wrong ever since I first used this. I always thought that whatever the circumstances, it could only be activated when you wanted. I guess even an English Freak such as I must take a second look at the cards once in a while.

EDIT: I guess that I was the only one betrayed here.
