What is the latest ruling about this?

First, with Lily Pad Mew on the bench: If Aquapolis Steelix uses EarthRift, which does 10 damage to each of the opponent's Pokeomon, does Lily Pad Mew take 10 damage or is it protected by its Pokemon Power?

Second, when Lily Pad Mew is the active Pokemon: If EarthRift is used against it, does the attack damage the benched Pokeon or does Lily Pad Mew stop all damage from the Evolved Pokemon?

If I have read the Power and rulings correctly, then:

1. It is protected by its power. If I remember correctly, Mew's Power says nothing about whether the damage comes from an attack or a power.

2. The Benched Pokemon still take the damage, because the Power does not apply -- it's not an effect on Mew, so the Power does not trigger. This one I'm sure of.

Every time I think I can't say anything stupider, I prove myself wrong. Maybe I should just stop thinking.

Promo, or Lily Pad, Mews Power Specifically says:Prevent all effects of attacks , including damage, done to Mew by evolved Pokemon. you cant use this power if Mew is effected by a special condition(this part i not actually on card, but with Power Eratta for Powers I reworded it)

so yes, mew only blocks Steelix's 10 damage done to itself, no matter if it is benched or active. It will not prevent 10 damage to the rest of you Pokemon, even if Mew is active.

Also, Mew specifically says attacks, so Powers can still hurt it, wether it is from evolved or not.

To evolve, treat Eevee poorly, when it hates your guts, let it get ko'ed in th night while holding Spell Tag. PS, if it gets ko'ed outin the day, then it will die, go visit its grave in Soul House of Lavender, next to Fuji

Thanks. Makes sense to me. At our tournament in Albany, the judge pulled out the compendium, read it several times, and came up with the right ruling--for each scenario!! Gotta give credit to the compendium and to the judge.
