Which of the following is an english version of a Pokémon TCG card from the Genesis set:
a) tyrouge
b) Tyrogue
c) Tyrouge

Bonus question, what is the 'meaning' of its name?

Answer is b. The name is two parts. A tyro is a beginner or someone new to something. A rogue is a person of questionable character.

The answer is "D": none of the above. There's no Fighting-type Baby Pokémon in Neo Genesis; Tyrogue is in Discovery.

I was inspired to look up some stuff at http://www.m-w.com.

I like Tyro, that you came up with, but here is Tyke: a small child (Tyrogue is a baby pokemon).

As a noun, rogue is what you say, but as an adjective it can mean dangerous or uncontrollable.

So Tyrogue: a small dangerous pokemon child.

Now, for the oh so popular Tyrouge. I think we've covered Ty. Rouge? Cosmetic for coloring the cheeks red.

So Tyrouge: a small pokemon child that turns your cheeks red.

Here are some additional info about Tyrouge:

Tyrouge is the only baby pokemon that can KO another baby.

Mindy Lambkee (the 10 & under World Champion)use it for stalling & do some early damage until Donphan is ready. Some people say Tyrouge is a must in every deck.

Sure,it's attack cost is one colorless,so it can go into many decks & used as a 'tech' card.Be sure to combo it with Focus Band.

Yeah, and Mindy also used a glut of Slowking. No thanks to her and many others Slowking is being banned.

Two cards I hate are the Neo Genesis Cleffa and Pokémon Breeder. I use the latter only in emergencies and the former only in traveling emergencies.

'Also'? Well, to be sure, she did NOT use a tyrouge -- there is no such thing.

Further, Slowking was NOT banned on her account (or the many others whomever they are...). The pretext for its banning seems to have been the new ruling from Japan about paying attack costs regardless of the ability to play the card through the Mind Games Pokémon Power. Kudos to Mindy's championship, but she is neither the only famous, nor the only inframous Slowking master.
