here's a combo that makes it hard for your opponent to keep you from retreating-- Dodrio plus Dragonite. I can only think of a couple of ways to keep this free retreat from working-- raising retreat costs or shutting off pokemon powers.

There's a problem with the combo, and that is what you're gonna be attacking with. You are going to have so many Dratini line and Doduo line Pokemon in the deck, that there'll be little room for attackers. Another thing would be if you just happen to run into a Forretress or Dark Dugtrio deck which'll damage your Pokemon for Switching and/or retreating. (I myself have made a decent Forretress+Dark Dugtrio deck)

the forretress/dark dugtrio problem is a good point, but dragonite makes a good attacker and you can usually fit another evolution line or two.
