Correction! Evolving a Pokemon Will Remove any residing effect on a Pokemon!

Residing effects include Poison, Confusion, Paralyasion, Sleep, Char, Paint, Lightning Rod and Burn, once it comes out!!

Ok, I just want a final answer on all of this...

So, evolving, deevolving, benching, and removing from play will remove the effects of...

Poison, Confusion, Paralization, Asleep, Burn, Char Counter, Paint Counter, Lightning Rod Counter, Food Counter, and type changes (such as by Porygon)

Correct?

Remember, you don't TAKE THE COUNTER OFF, the counter always remains, it just loses whatever properties it represented.

Evolving, Devolving, and removing from play removes all effects on that Pokémon.

Benching only removes Posion, Confusion, Asleep, and Paralyze. And i'll have to assume Burn.

Counters (Char, Paint, Lightning Rod, et. al.) remain on the Pokémon until it Evolves, Devolves, or leaves play. Benching does not remove counters.

Now, for four the original effects a pokemon can have, Poison, Confusion, Asleep, and Parylzed, they go away if they are evolved, benched, sent to the discard (obviously) and brought back to the hand (Scoop up) along with Burn and I beleive Paint (not sure on Paint though) but as for char and lightning rod, they stay on the pokemon as long as that pokemon is in play! So in other words the only way to trash it is for it to get killed (not the best choice!), evolved, or back to the hand (Scoop Up) , but benching (the easiest one to do usually) it will not get rid of Char or LIghtning Rod! Hope this helps!

And maybe more to come!

I may have a correction to al lthis, (might)

Lightning Rod states:
Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokemon and put a Lightning Rod counter on it. (A Pokemon can only have 1 Lightnng Rod counter on it at a time)

Char States:
If the Defending Pokemon doesn't have a Char counter on it, flip a coin. If heads, Put a Char counter on it. A Char counter requires your opponent to flip a coin after every turn. If tails, put 2 damage counters on the Pokemon with that Char Counter. (Char counters stay on the Pokemon as long as it's in play)

AS LONG AS IT'S IN PLAY

While the Lightning Rod Counter has no restrictions to its removal, Char does. By saying AS LONG AS IT'S IN PLAY means, until it gets KO'ed or shuffled into the deck, until it leaves the Bench or Battle Arena, it keeps the Char. Evolving or Devolving won't have anythign to do with it. It's the same card according to the rules, so why treat it differently?

Lightning Rod may come off, but I know for sure Char won't

Sorry Dark Llama, but evolving a Pokemon makes it a new card. Very much not the same card. For example, it's now a Clefable, not a Clefairy.

The only thing that remains after evolving/devolving is damage counters and attached cards. Everything else is cleared.
