Let's say Tyrogue attacks with Smash Punch (with a Strength Charm attached), flips tails, and does zero damage. According to the wording on Strength Charm, it appears that the tool stays attached. Agreed?

FYI, here's the game text on Strength Charm:

quote:
Whenever an attack from the Pokemon that Strength Charm is attached to does damage (after applying Weakness and Resistance), the attack does 10 more damage. At the end of your turn in which this happens, discard Strength Charm.

That's the way I see it, and that's one of the bonuses you have that a Plus Power doesn't give, though Plus Powers did have their advantage.

indeed I would even point out that if some trainer or pokepower or pokebody effected you from doing dammage that it would not get discarded, sort of like counter attack claws stay on if you dont get heads.

Erica total 24, thats right, 24.
Dunsprace total 41.
I've gotten 98 on that Machoke at work game. I beat Driving Corasola.
I almost beat the record in Hold Down hip hop. I got 2000 or so in Kinglers day. I got 7 in Rapadash's dash. Butterfree's Flower Power 4700. 123 In Jumping Dodoro. My all foil deck is finished.

"I've got floating engery."
"I've got counter productive Powers."

"One heart can make a diferance."
"Rock the world baby, rock the world."
"Roll out!!"

Attach Strength Charm to Rockets Hitmonchan,

Use CrossCounter..

Q1 Will Strength charm increase the damage from CrossCounter if you flip heads?

Q2 Would you then discard Strength Charm.

FWIW I'm undecided about Q1 and believe that Q2 is No regardless of Q1

I would say no (and therefore no again) based on the focus band rulings.

No, the card isn't discarded if you get tails. This makes very lucrative repeat 70-or-zero attempts against Electabuzz (MMF) and Clefable (Unlimited).

--------------------
What, like the pro-archetype attitude is supposed to be restricted to THIS company, and THIS TCG?
All card games run on archetypes. Magic is 90% archetypes. YGO is 90% archetypes. Pokemon was, for the most part, all archetypes before and during MF2. Pokemon will be archetype-based during MF3. Pokemon will be archetype based when it is under Nintendo.

Viva la unoriginality!

CPU, you've hit on the EXACT reason why I asked this question. Tyrogue w/ Strength Charm is a GREAT counter to Electabuzz (and Clefable in unlimited).

Grimer, how many times do I have to tell you mud pies don't actually have mud in them, so they're not going to help you evolve into Muk!

Dogbertland will have thrilling rides like "the wedgie" and I'll have a maze in front of the restrooms.-Dogbert

I think (?) I'm in agreement with Yoshi, as Crosscounter is an effect of an attack and not an outright attack (am I right?). Strength Charm wouldn't work on Rocket's Hitmanchan in the way you said.
