You can't expect all the Pokemon to have great attacks and other effects, but what you can expect are new interesting possibilities.
As for Vileplume's new weakness, it goes in line with the Gameboy, since Vileplume was Poison/Grass, and poison is weak to Psychic. It kind of makes it better, since Psychic is less commonly used than Fire. Other changes to note are the Gatr line going weak to Electricity, Cloyster weak to Metal (though in the GB, its weak and resistant, so they cancel out), the Gengar line is weak to Dark, and Meganium line is resistant to Water. All of this is parallel to the GB games.
The Pokeball like Marker, which I assume is the red one, was meant for Char or some other effects I assume, and now can be used for Burn.
As for the e-Reader functions, there was an earlier post on them, so look around, and you should find it. [Razz]

You can play games with serten card combos.
Some show movies.
Most play music, or do a pattern, or have a difernt sound effect.
IF the side of the card has dots it has one of the above- otherwise, it dont, the bottom dots are for game info. There are coin flipers - Chaney, Oak or Elm, Bill- and maybe others- I'm guessing if whoever runs your tourments says its ok - or if your oppenent does not mind you can use this system instted of a normal coin- um chancey gives heads alot- but maybe thats just my weird luck.

Erica total 24, thats right, 24.
Dunsprace total 41.
I've gotten 98 on that Machoke at work game. I beat Driving Corasola.
I almost beat the record in Hold Down hip hop. I got 2000 or so in Kinglers day. I got 7 in Rapadash's dash. Butterfree's Flower Power 4700. 123 In Jumping Dodoro. My all foil deck is finished.

"I've got counter productive Powers."

The official word:

Q. Will the Coin Flipper on the Chansey E-Card (when used with the E-Reader) be legal for gameplay purposes?
A. Nope, the e-reader technology is fun but not tournament legal. It's too distracting to other players, takes too long to actually flip and hard to see by both players at the same time. (Sep 5, 2002 WotC Chat, Q202; Sep 12, 2002 WotC Chat, Q293 & Q300)

Well, what about the E-Chansey's Dogpile attack? Deal 10x number of benched damage, then 10 TIMES THAT DAMAGE to Chansey? OMG, isn't that like a suicide drop?

That attack is similar to the origial Chansey's attack, the only thing is that it is not solid damage. You can combo it with Unown N to do up to 50 Damage to your opponent and 20 to yourself, and with a Metal Energy you'd do up to 40 Damage to your opponent and 0 Damage to yourself, also with an Unown N in play. It sort of replaces Wigglytuff and the old Chansey in New Modified, and you can use Harvest Bounty Venusaur to make it faster.
