Does burn place 2 counters or do 20? I never check a rule book or whatever and it recently came up- we played it as 2 counters but what is it?

I believe it's two counters, since it is usually only attacks that actually do damage, but plenty of other cards/effects can place counters.

Both burn and Poison place damage counters, so there is no way around it.
