ok, few questions, ill even take the time to draw a diagram!
scenerio, An Umbreon is active and attacking a "lilypad" mew, with feint attack, Its attacks damage ignores mew's power, when it is the defending pokemon, :example:
prizes [1] [2] [3] [4] [deck] [discard]
[ ] [ ] umbreon
[ ] [ ] [ ]
mew
[ ] [ ] [ ]
[ ] [ ] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [deck] [discard]
in that case would it damage mew?
next scenerio...
If umbreon is attacking mew ON BENCH, feint attack DOES NOT ignore mews power, neutral shield,
:example:
prizes [1] [2] [3] [4] [deck] [discard]
[ ] [ ] umbreon
[ ] [ ] [ ]
Wobbufett
[ ] [ ] [ ]
[ ] [ ] [1] [mew] [3] [4] [5] [deck] [discard]
in this scenerio, would Umbreon damage mew? or would Mew block the feint attack, because feint attack is attacking Wobuffett??

In the first scenario, Umbreon would damage Mew. Feint Attack ignores any effects on the defending pokemon that would effect the damage, so it ignores Neutral Shield. In the second scenario Mew is not the defending pokemon. Thus, Feint Attack does not ignore any effects on Mew. Neutral Shield works and prevents the damage.

great anther rulling that makes some loop holes, so faint attack ingores the active pokemons' powers, effects, etc now?

so that would trash the ruling on the professor test then? When Unkown "D" is on bench, feint attack cant do any damage. i purposly answered all the card ruling ones wrong and chose that answer for that question, i got 1 right, now come on, where is DMTM when you need him... ![[NoNoNo]](../tcg/graemlins/nonono.gif)

This needs to be asked again! I am quite sure that Feint attack ignores only powers on the defending Pokémon, and not on benched Pokémon. I think that this ruling was just a mistake made 'on the fly'.

EH. I'm sure that ruling is a mistake.
Yoshi, did we put that ruling in the Compendium?
I'm sure we can get that reversed at the next chat if we did. It is obviously wrong.

That was my impression, as well. Anyway, here's what's in the rules logs for that chat:

A. RIGHT! Correct. (Dec 12, 2002 WotC Chat, Q88)
Unfortunately, that seems to leave room for the second ruling to be correct (if it weren't, WotC would typically state the power still works from the bench in the first ruling).

I seem to recall that we left the second ruling out on purpose because we realized that it was obviously a mistake. We might have even ran it by the MTs to confirm.
Anyone else from TC recall that?
