I'm looking at my Gyarados. Notice it's power which is not bad. Remove some energy. Its only attack is automatic fifty and double when he has 5 or more damage on it for a last strike. It does evolve from magikarp though. Yuk! But I figure it could be used. but can anyone think of any other pokemon (preferably stage 1 or basic, but stage 2 could work) because I'm drawing a big fat zero on ideas! something to benefit it or help on weakness, but it's weak to lightning, who plays lightning?

Any ideas! Thanks alot!

Base set Hitmonchan. He's great against those electric guys--and only needs one fighting to do 20. Then, play a bunch of strength charms so that Hitmonchan will knock out babies.

Even against electric, if you time the putting down of Gyrados to eliminate some energy, it's still playable. Bring up Magikarp and evolve into Gyrados against one electric. Then, if you get two heads, consider double gusting up a different electric Pokemon with more energy on it.

Consider playing a couple of boost energies to speed it up when needed. On the second turn, Gyrados can be doing 50 damage. Then, after you lose the Boost energy, you can use a Memory Berry on the next turn--since there will be only one energy left on Gyrados. Or Pokemon Center if heavily damaged and use a Water Cube. It's an amazing versatile card.

Stadiums: We like Pokemon Tower. Helps Gyrados' PokePower to eliminate some of those recycle energies.

We like the card---a lot. Finally, we play 2 skyridge Gyradoses along with 1 Legendary Gyrados. Remember, Legendary has a different weakness.

Hope this helps. If you don't like Hitmonchan, consider playing 3 Tyrogues. We like to play 2 and 2. Soemtimes even evolve Tyrogue into Hitmonchan.

Maybe try alakazam with it. You could get alot of damage counters and move it on gyarados with a focus band then do 100 then if your opponent attacks you can maybe survive with the focus band then next turn move the damage to another pokemon and do pokemon center/nurse.

You could try a chancey/light dragonite/gyarados deck.

Try Hyper Devolution Sprays and/or Undersea Ruins with Lure Ball.

Make Magikrap active, evolve, devolve, retreat, repeat next turn.

Oh what fun it is when your opponent has no energy.
