Can Rainbow energy be shifted using Aquapolis Kingdra's Water Cyclone power?

The power refers to W energy card, and not a Basic W energy card.

If someone remembers to ask this at the next chat I'd appreciate it as over here in the UK the times can be very anti-social.

Many thanks!

I know this has been answered, but can the point be explained - I'm looking for some help from Team Compendium here, as it was brought up repeatedly in my games at GenCon-Europe.

Many thanks for the patience!

Look up rulings on Energy Trans and Rainbow Energy.
It's the exact same scenario except it's based on the Water aspect of Rainbow instead of the Grass aspect.
It will work.

It is, as you mention, only when it refers to the "basic energy card" that it has to be that actual, physical card and not just a card that is providing that energy type.

Here's a ruing from the Rainbow Energy section:

quote:
Q. Can you Energy Trans a Rainbow Energy?
A. Sure. (June 22, 2000 WotC Chat, Q228)

Many thanks PokePop - glad to say that TC was used as the reference for the Prof Tourney yesterday and that exact analogy to Energy Trans was used by the Judge, Head Judge and Administrator. Another reason to justify the high quality of judging at GenCon-Europe! Thanks for helping!
