I was reading Boost Energy and Stumbled accross a loop whole in the card. Dont know exactly howmany decks and Pokemon can utilize this, but I know of 2, 1 is of course Light Dragonite while active (yours or your opponents) and the other is SK Alakazam. How you ask, simple. Here is Boost Energies text, for those that dont know exactly how it is worded.....

Boost Energy/Special Energy card.

Boost Energy can be attached only to an Evolved Pokemon.
Discard Boost Energy ar the end of the turn it was attached.
Boost Energy provides [White Mana] [White Mana] [White Mana] Energy. The Pokemon Boost Energy is attached to cant retreat.
When the Pokemon Boost Eenrgy is attached to is no longer an evolved Pokemon, discard Boost Energy.

Well, there you go. You can only not retreat the Pokemon it is attached to. Prevease rulings in the past state that attaching is considered from your hand to the Pokemon, and Alakazams power specifically says move the energy. I could be wrong, and to the best of my knowledge there is no ruling on it, but Boost CCC energy could be a big help with high retreaters, like Snorlax, Steelix and a few others.

Whadda ya think?

I think that it doesn't work... The attach ruling isn't easy but I believe that it is used whenever a game effect is trying to alter of be triggered by your one chance to attach an energy card from your hand per turn.

probably worth getting confirmation in tomorrow's chat.

Yes that should work. Since you attach it to something other than the Active and Energy Jump it onto the Active, it gets around the can't Retreat clause.

Alakazam can move the Boost Energy between any Pokemon. But if it moved to a Basic Pokemon, it will be discard right the way.

The "When the Pokemon Boost Energy is attached to is no longer an evolved Pokemon" is refer to the Pokemon currently have the Boost Energy attached, not the orginally Pokemon you attach the Boost Energy.

So when the Boost Energy move to non-evolved Pokemon, it meet the condition and discard the Boost Energy.

Anyway, The Boost Energy will be discarded at the end of the turn you attach the card, even it may be moved to another Pokemon.

[Edit: sorry, I misunderstand the orginally idea. It is about the retreat.

I believe the Active still can not be reteated if a moved CCC is "Attached" to it.

Refer to the Brock's Protection:
"Energy Cards attached to that Pokemon can't be removed by ...."

Brock's protection protect all energy card on the Pokemon, even the energy card is MOVED to the Pokmeon. It don't care the origin of the energy card.

Similar logic, "The Pokemon Boost Energy is attached to " is mean a Pokemon currently with a Boost Energy. Not the original Pokemon you play the Boost Energy.

"attached to" and "is attached to" is mean the same, just the direction is opposite.]

I'm sure they will rule using the "intent" and will say it won't work.

I never liked the termplating about "attaching an energy".

Unless the MTs surprise us and rule otherwise, retreating with boost energy can only be done with a LtDrago deck that uses Miraculous Wind to turn off the Boost effects. JMO.

While "attaching" energy usually means taking it from your hand, and putting it on a Pokémon, "attached" energy simply means energy that is "on" a Pokémon - ie. all energy is attached, no matter how it was put on.

Otherwise, by your logic, you could Energy Jump 3 L energy onto a revelation Raichu, then Lightning Strike for 80 , discarding zero energy since the text says "discard all L energy attached to Raichu", and none of your energy was attached, it was Energy Jumped.

Clearly that doesn't, and shouldn't, work; and on the same token, your Energy Jump-Retreat-with-Boost-Energy idea doesn't work.

Just my 2 pence.

Yeah I was thinking about it after I typed it out, but it all depends on what the.....

quote:
The Pokemon Boost Energy is attached to cant retreat.
If it is refering to the actual Pokemon when it is attached, or if it is refering to, no matter who it is attached to, no retreat.

It was just an Idea when I was reading over Boost Energy and Alakazam. I just wanted opinions and a ruling on it before I started doing it, so I wouldnt be considered "Cheating".
