...so, I'm sitting here, thinking about Professor events at Gym Challenge's, formulating the most POWERFUL DECK IN THE WOOOOORRRRRLLLDDD! *Lights dim and lightning strikes*

...and then it hits me...I can't use my Dark Crobats like they're supposed to...grr...

Dark Golbat was rotated out. *sigh*

Wizards should watch themselves a little better...part of my whole deck is to destroy Slowking while he's still on the bench and my opponent can't do a thing about it.

Now, I'd need to use Breeder, which is useless with Slowking out there.

Why did Wizards make such an oversight...and are there any other occurances of such a thing.

*Sends his whole deck back to the drawing board...waiting for more insipration*

Two problems:

1: You assume that WotC can really do anything about it. They are trying to keep the playing environment fresh by rotating out sets. Dark Golbat was in Rocket, Rocket was rotated out, so no Dark Golbat. The only ways this could have been avoided are
a) reprint Dark Golbat (which they probably weren't allowed to do),
b) make Dark Golbat a promo (which they probably didn't want to do) or
c) keep Rocket in Modified while rotating out Gym (which actually sounds like a good thing, but probably was not a viable option).

2: You also assume it was a mistake. While Dark Crobat wasn't in modified for long, it was played a lot, often WITH Slowking, in my area. I for one was glad to see it go. (besides, I hate those "comes into play" trumping Magby/Muk rulings)

If you are looking to deal with Slowking, try Muk, Magby or Iggly.

pokemonpro...

One of the main reasons I wanted to use a Dark Crobat line was to DEFEAT Slowking (among other reasons, paired with Magnetons and Strength charms...their active Pokemon wouldn't matter...their entire bench would perish quickly)...

If they do have slowking out...no Breeder for me. Besides...I'd rather play D. Golbat than not use it to get D. Crobat out quickly.

Or 3: Maybe it was a mistake and they meant to include it in Legendary Collection and just plain forgot... who knows. It could have happened.

Yeah, Dark Crobat was my favorite deck too...

I'm still miffed. Oh well...

And I traded a lot of good cards for 4 Genesis Scizor before the errata came down. Oh well...

And I actually believed it when I was told that TPC disallowed the 15+ division. Oh well...

Well, you worry about not being able to use Dark Crobat while Slowking is in, but remember that Muk and Magby stop Slowking's Power while NOT stopping Dark Crobat's, so you could actually combo one or both of them together. Just a thought though...
