I was thinking a little bit on the weekend and came up with this deck:

4x Ledyba d
4x Ledian d

4x Wooper d
4x Quagsire d

4x Budew

20 Pokemon

4x Strength Charm
4x Buffer Piece
4x Celio
2x Mentor
2x Mr. Stone
2x Scott

2/4x Something
2/4x Something
2/4x Something

16 Trainers

8x Grass NRG
4x Basic Metal NRG
2x Delta RE
2x Scramble NRG

16 NRG

I haven't thought of a full trainer line yet and all ideas will be graciously accepted.

Main cards and what part they play:

Quagsire:

Quagsire is the main attacker in the deck. At first glance he doesn't look very powerful but if you attach one Strength Charm to him his Pump Out attack knocks 80 damage onto the defending Pokemon, enough to OHKO anything.
His power, Dig Up, supports the deck. It allows you to pull 2 Pokemon Tools from your discard pile and put them into your hand when you evolve into Quagsire. Obviously, you then put them on to Quaggy to dish out 70-80 damage a turn.

Ledian:

Ledian is a great support for Quagsire. When you evolve Ledyba into Ledian, you can use Ledian's power, Prowl, to search your deck for any card you want. This attack is very versatile and can be used in most decks.

When you have 2 NRG on Ledian you can attach a Pokemon tool to it and use Metal Star. When you have a Pokemon tool attached and use Metal Star you can draw three cards. This allows you to thin your deck a bit and possibly draw another Pokemon Tool.

Starter Pokemon:

Budew:

Budew is seriously underrated at my league and nobody plays with it. I think differently.
Because "Trainers" included Supporters and Stadium cards in the EX sets, Budew's attack allows you to get ANY Trainer. If it is DP-onwards it only includes cards with "Trainer" in the top left corner but I have absolutely no DP Supporters in this deck.
This allows you to pull Mentors and Celios for free, and the NRG you would use to power Budew you can use to power a benched Wooper or Ledyba.

By now you would have figured out the concept of the deck. This is a mock battle which I made:

T1: Active: Budew
T1: Bench: Wooper and Ledyba
Attach: Grass to Wooper
Attack: Pull Celio.

T2: Active: Budew
T2: Bench: 2 Wooper and 2 Ledyba
Supporter: Celio for Ledian
Power: Prowl for Str Charm
Attach: Grass to Wooper
Attack: Pull Celio.

T3: Active: Wooper
T3: Bench: Ledian, Wooper and Ledyba
Supporter: Celio for Quagsire
Attach: Grass to Quagsire
Attach: Strength Charm
Attack: Pump Out for 80.

Rinse and repeat.

Using Holon Mentor in this deck:

When you play Holon Mentor you should discard a Pokemon Tool if possible. You can get it back with Dig Up. This way you won't waste Quagsire's beaut power.

The deck has no Pokemon with health above 100 so I am thinking about adding another pokemon like Nidoqueen 2-2-2. Please give your opinions on this.

I appreciate any suggestions and I DO need some more Pokemon Tools so please recommend something. Don't say Cess Crystal. It shuts the whole deck down.

Thank you very much.

Budew only gets Trainers... It can't get old supporters even though they were trainers because Budew is a DP-on card. Just use stantler/Chingling

I'll put it this way to make it simple. Pre D&P cards that say Trainer gets any Trainer/Supporter/Stadium. This is because the Supporters/Stadiums in pre D&P sets say Trainer. Post D&P cards that say Trainer get any TRAINER. NOT any Supports/Stadiums. This is because the Supporters/Stadiums in these sets onward say Supporter/Stadium not Trainer like in Pre D&P sets. So in this way Pokemon in post D&P sets see Supporters/Stadiums as Supporters/Stadiums NOT Trainers.

In most cases I meant to write 2HKO instead of OHKO. Everyone keeps saying OHKO so I get used to it...

Well...

Since all Pre-DP cards that were supporters and stadiums etc. counted as trainers...
If a DP onward card asks you to search for a trainer...
All Pre-DP cards satisfy the conditions.

In other words...

If a DP-on card says to search for a trainer, it means IMO to search for:

"Any card that has Trainer in the top left corner of the card." Excerpt LavaFlow Rulebook.

Let us agree to disagree.

In any case, we have a Professor coming over to league in a couple of days so I can double check with her.

Besides, if I am wrong, Stantler/Chimecho can't search for normal tainers and I can just chuck in a couple of Scotts.

As you may(or may not) have noticed I am more interested in your opinions on Nidoqueen, what other PokeTools and if you think the deck works.

Budew can't get old Supporters. You always have to treat the cards as if they were just printed in the most recent set due to any erratas. If an old Supporter, for example Castaway, were printed in a post-DP set, it would have "Supporter" in the top-left corner. It's just like using old Mysterious Fossils; since they got reprinted with 50 HP, the old ones have 50 HP instead of 10.

Those extra slots need to be draw because you have none.

Thank you for saying that. I will change my Budews to Stantler.

Such as...?

I have 1 TVR.
I wish there was something like Pot of Greed from Yu-Gi-Oh! in Pokemon.

Y'know, Mawile from CG might be a better starter. Mawile CAN get any trainer from the pre-DP area, so that includes your tools. Mawile can even instantly attach them.

Since you are using Delta Species Pokemon, why not use Holon's Castform instead of Budew/Chingling/Stanler? You can use delta draw on your first few turns, use the extra Castforms as energies.

It's just a thought.

Napoleon: Tell me what she says....

Pretty much the same thing as mrdraz.

I have none. AND I won't be getting any because no-one has them.
I can just play 2 Budew and 2 Stantler.

Why don't I see 4 Castaway?

Because I have enough searchers e.g. Ledian and i can just drop a bunch of draw cards in to thin the deck.

I definitely would if I had some.

Yeah, pretty much except that she said any Pre-DP card that is a Trainer/Support etc. all come into the group "Trainer" but if a card that is from DP refers to a Trainer it means a Trainer "Trainer" not a Supporter"Trainer".

If you don't get it, join the club.
