:pokeball:I always wanted to know, why did Pokemon stop making first edition cards in the U.S.? If anyone could point some light for me onto this topic me and some friends, would greatly appreciate it.

WotC stopped making them because players and collectors lost interest in them.
Sure, Base Set 1st edition cards have a huge value compared to unlimited, but Jungle 1st ed are worth hardly any more than that set's unlimited. By Fossil, and certainly Team Rocket, 1st Edition cards hold little to no extra value compared to regular cards.
If something doesn't provide any extra income, a company is going to drop it.
At the same time that they dropped 1st edition, WotC introduced parallel foils which seems to be more popular.
So, Legendary Collection is the point at which they switched over.
PUI followed their lead and has kept producing parallel foils, some versions more interesting or popular than others.

At the same time we dropped 1st Edition didnt JPN pick it up? I found that really interesting. Our last set to have 1/e was Neo Destiny. JPN last set to not have 1/e was the same set Neo Destiny or it's equvilant.

If I am not mistaken doesn’t the Japanese Pokemon booster packs contain first edition cards?

Another question.
Do Japanese booster packs contain reverse holo cards? I haven’t bought a Japanese pack of Pokemon cards in years.

Poke Pop-
Deckmaster looks at you with bright eyes, points his thumb up:thumb: and says; so that's what happened to first edition cards.

Japanese packs do not contain parallel foils.
