POP normally isn't compelled to justify or explain its actions, but I "would" like a comment on this before we jump to conclusions.

However, at first glance, this looks ridiculously unfair. Some sort of cap needs to be put in place.

No...North America should mean just that: North America, seeing as how we share invites with Mexico and Canada.

I think US Players will have to invade Mexico (To particpate in Mexican States) just so that we can keep out top scores competitive with thier players top scores.

Are US citizens allowed to play in mexican states? I'm thinking trip to mexico. If they get 6ish states dates, then i might as well get the same advantage.

It appears that MX will not have a Regional this year. Did they have as many CCs or BRs as USA? There may be reasons why they get more chances at STPs than the USA.

I agree with Keith on this one...

If they don't have a regional that sucks for MX.However, all of these events being 32k will make a HUGE impact - especially if some MX players travel to America for Regionals. If say, one or two MX players go X-0 at 2-3 events, their rating will sky rocket to over 1900.

I am at 1850 right now,but that's with an entire season (thus far) under my belt. It'll be interested to see what happens to say the least

I'm sure Ives can give us some background on this. It can certainly affect some rankings though in the long run. The Q though, how many players in MX (outside of Pablo) can/will travel to FL for an invite w/o trip paid?

Keith

a) We don't get Regionals.
b) These are STP's, not CC's, most are pretty far away from each other.

I don't know anything beyond that. I wish people thought on both ends of the spectrum though, where was the: It's unfair for Mexico in this years rankigns because they don't get Regionals, a very high k-value event thread last year? Of course, US people didn't mind as it only beneffitted them. Now that we have a slight advantage by being able to go to 3-4 STP's over 2 STP's and 1 Regionals, people get concerned. Just some food for thought.

Read Pablo's post, he pretty much nails it.

PS I do think it would be great that US players attend Mexican states, see this as an extra chance of boosting your record, I call it the reverse Pablo, since Pablo is the one usually stealing points off US at regionals, why not US players steal off points from mexican players at states ? just remember 2 things, be sure to have your insurance paid, and second, to bring reeses :p

In Ontario we only get 1 Provincials and 1 Regionals but, its better than nothing.

Sounds about right unless there is only 1 Regional in all of Canadia. However, it seems Mexico gets zero Regionals.

I think this means we can see Pablo back to defend at Southwest Regional in US. Well, I won't see him because I'll be at Sierra Nevada. Actually, I hardly saw him last year because of much excitement with dropped or picked up decks in the Junior division (eh, DukeFireBird?).

...Which is all very acceptable, seeing as how some top placers in your NC won't even get to go to Worlds (VISA)!
