Weezing GE

Well, this card will be in GE and it might create quite a favor for special conditions and introduce us passive damage again.

Card info for Weezing:

Weezing L.42 – Psychic – HP80
Stage 1 – Evolves from Koffing

Poke-Body: Toxic Virus
At any time between turns, each player puts 1 more damage counter to his or her Poisoned Pokémon.

[P][C] Offensive Gas: 30 damage. Flip a coin, if heads the Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned and Confused.

Weakness: Psychic (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

There are plenty of no-attack-required poisoners, like:
Venusaur SW
Venomoth SW
Qwilfish SW
Cacturne PK
Vileplume d HP

Venomoth should be the first pick, as it's rapid, sure and places the poison in the end of your opponent's turn, so that your opponent has to take 2 between-turns poisons before having a change to react. Throw a few Weezings to your bench - with 1 you do 40 passive damage, 2 for 60, 3 for 80 and so on. 3 Weezings in bench and Venomoth in attacking position is basically KO to whatever hit you. If it wasn't Walrein. And Walrein is slow anyhow.

Start with a Pachirisu to swarm Weezings and keep him taking care of Cessations and off you go - seems like GE is bringing some fun to the game after all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed until the set comes out.

If you play it, and it's successful, everyone will just tech Xatu and make Weezing's pokebodies work against you.

Xatu is one of those problems, that's also why I suggested Venomoth to be your first choice. With Venomoth you can pretty much circle around it - as they can use Xatu's power in their next turn. That's 2 turn-switches in-between and 2x poison damage, count in an attack and the poisoned pokémon might as well faint before Xatu has a chance to do anything. Walrein can use Xatu as its advantage, though.

I think that if you can successfully swarm with Weezing, you can probably stack on the passive damage from poisoning pretty quicky. Shame you can't poison Pokemon on the bench...

I think there are several nice partners for Weezing GE here:

Skarmory EX could fit in nicely here; his Poke-Body deters the opponent from retreating, least his Pokemon take even more damage.

Toxicroak keeps Poison on the defending, whether they evolve or not.

Ariados MT has a Poke-Body that beefs up the Retreat Cost of all Pokemon by 1, making it even harder to retreat.

So overall, I think a good 4-4 Weezing line, about 2 Skarmory EX, 3-3 Ariados, and 2-2 Toxicroak could really mess with your opponent. Or heck, if you're not that worried about the opponent evolving, you could ditch Toxicroak for a reliable poisoner like Venemoth.

Muk SW is a pretty good poisoner. Auto-poison any Pokemon with special energy, plus his attack does confusion and stops retreat.

Do decks really work like this anymore? Do you really see bodies and powers combo between a stage 2 and a stage 1, or two stage 1s, and the deck do well? I have my doubts. Right now the format favors damage output. Actually, in many formats, this was true. Status is decent, and there are better cards coming out, but status has never been able to really keep up with big damage. Even though Flariados took 3rd in Masters at Nationals 2007, most people preferred damage output decks like Absolutions and Empoleon.

Weezing looks decent, but I don't see it working in today's environment. Decks will be fast and hit for big damage. Laying a puny extra damage counter isn't going to hurt these 130HP beasts.

1 extra damage counter doesn't ammount to much... Except it stacks. Except it applies inbetween turns, so if you poison the defending pokemon, you're placing 2 extra damage counters per stage 1 that you have on your bench. This wouldn't really work without Pachirisu, no. But with Pachirisu, it'll swarm like nuts...

The venomoth trick's a very good example of how this could work, actually. They damage Venomoth (who's another swarmable pokemon, who by the way is immune to Sonic Blade, Ghost Head, and other attacks) and then they'll be taking anywhere from 20 to 100 extra damage before they even get a turn. And Venomoth can do 50 damage. 3 Weezings = OHKO on EVERYTHING except Torterra. Yes, Blissey's not going to last a turn against this deck.

I think you should just forget about Toxicroak, Skarmory, other tricks that frankly should not be making a difference. What you need is something to stop Lati-lock, and perhaps something to stop sniping. Failing those, you need someone to help you set up. Hm...

Also, if you really wanted to just use Weezing, Nidoking/Nidoqueen seems almost too perfect to believe. Well... I suppose you won't have much room on the bench for Weezings, but the Nidoqueen d's power to search anything out, Nidoking's switch, do damage, then poison (so drag off + Power shut down on active to do 40->60 damage, and then doing another 10->40 damage, totaling up to 50->100 damage on anything of your choice) with low energy cost... That seems like it's begging for use, but can't find a way to fit it onto the bench or even the deck list.
...Actually, take that back. Assuming you can set up Venomoth and Weezing... That does a LOT more damage then Nidoking does, it just loses the ability to force switches (which could be vital against Lati-lock, you never know)

4-4 weezing
3-3 muk
2-2 toxicroack
4 pachirisu

4 DRE
7-8 psychic
3-4 holon WP

and a lot of trainer...

but if anyone play latilock...

4-4 weezing
3-3 muk
2-2 toxicroack
4 pachirisu

Would need Scramble as well. I'm assuming you're having Muk as a main attacker, given that Weezing's too important to let fall? What happens when you play something like Magmortar? It won't really need to use the Scrambles against you, 'cause Fire Starter's not being stopped, and really Magmortar only needs 2 Fireball Balzookas to KO most everything in the deck (it would come a Strength Charm/Pluspower away from KOing Muk, oh noes).
What happens when you play Gallade? It certainly loses power late game, but when it only needs to flip 1 prize to KO anything, that's... A tad scary. AT LEAST Venomoth only needs 2 grass or a DRE to work, while Muk needs 2 Psychic and 1 colorless energy, or a Scramble. At least Venomoth will always poison, no matter what. At least Venomoth's safe from stupid tricks like Disable.

I... Don't really see the advantage that Muk brings, unless you're suggesting something else to be active and take hits.

Yeps, Latilock and sniping are certainly problems that need to be addressed when making a deck around Weezing. Sniping usually does just a minor damage, but Latilock is bigger, and we would need a switcher or something else to counter it.

Another reason at why I like Venomoth is that if your opponent - for some reason - carries poisoner or Water+Holon WP, Venomoth has it covered. As Venomoth poisons via body, Holon WP has nothing to it, and other poisoners can't hit it after it uses it's attack. So, you will be pretty much able to use the extra poison damage for your favor instead of your opponent taking an advantage of it. As long as you don't get surprised by SW Venusaur or Xatu.

Donphan still lols to your Venomoths, but nobody plays Donphan anyway, right?

I dunno, it could do good at...say, League?

I agree though, it's probably more for fun if anything. Sure, it'd be nice to pull this off on an opponent, but it'll be too hard to win consistently with something like this imo. Especially since you have Cessation Crystal and the Lati@s still, either one dooms the strategy.

I suggest STINKING MONARCHY

4-2-4 Nidoking
2-1-2 Nidoqueen d
4-4 Weezing

This allows the disruption with King, Searching with Queen and gives Pride Attack some bonus, Stacked Poisoning with Weezing! 20+10+10 then 50/60+10+10 = decent damage. 110 isn't to bad and you can pull up stuff on the bench for disruption! Could be interesting!

I really like the venomoth weezing idea.

It would probly go like:

4-4 Venomoth
4-4 Weezy

4 Castaway
3 Celios
2 Roseannes
4 Quick Ball
4 Great Ball
4 PoV
1 Copycat
1 Stevens
3 Strength Charm
1 Buffer
3 Night Maintenance

3 DRE
2 Multi
9 Grass

Swarm. Nothing much else to say. Seems very fun to play.

ey wood hit me up i got some wood engine to show you, i think youll like it in your deck
anyway I like dat STINKING STINKING monarchy goin on, you defenitly dont need no 4-4 weezing though more like 1-1, unless dats part of the stanky fish engine or somethin i dont even kno all these engines

What about Crobat? Auto + 3 Poison

Maybe:
2-1-2 Delta Queen
3-2-3 Bat
3-3 Weezing
4 Pachirisu

In the end I think it'll be too much set up, too little HP, and not enough punch, but who knows.

i really like the venomoth and nidoking ideas, and i think that they could both work very well if someone gets a good enough trainer engine for it.
nidoking idea would have more power and beable to bring stuff off the bench for a lot of damage, even more if they dont retreat.
and the venomoth idea would be really fast and have a for sure poison that starts on their turn, which would be a huge bonus.
