The Cards

Claydol EX
This card was very popular going into Nationals '07. Everyone thought that it was Ambush, and that somehow Lafonte had broken this 'bad' card. Well, they did. But it's definatly playable a States '08. This card it the weakness to 2 of the top decks in this format. GG and Blissey. This card(combined wih lake Boundry) OHKO's everything in those decks. Harsh. Yes, I know its an EX and its 2 prizes. So?

Claydol(GE)
This card is most of my draw. Its all I need though because of me playing the Ball Engine, I'll never have HUGE hands, so I can draw 3-6 easily.

Weavile(SW)
This is mostly a TeCh for Bannette. I OHKO's it with ease. Bu its also a great disrupter and overall attacker. It can also change my type to dark to get around any resistance or to abuse a weakness. I can also abuse a Special dark if need be.

Lati-Lock(no scan because its 2 pokemon)
A great counter to Fire Truk and shutting down every body. Its easy to get out, and I dont really waste bench space because bench space isnt important in this deck.

Sableye
Excavte helps with my planning on what I want to do to set for next turn, while disable beats every 1 Attack pokemon out there.

Ball/Fishing Engine
I chose this engine mainly because it gives fast and consistant starts no mater what the siuation. Ofcoruse, I've added some supporter help(Mentor) so that I can get a basic that maybe I dont want to go straight to the bench, but I want in my hand.

Strategy
The whole point is speed. I want to start with the Baltoy and use my balls to get my hand down so that I can draw multiple cards with Baltoy to set-up and get going. Lake Boundry makes or breaks every Match-up though because of Weakness. I can abuse 4 Different Type Advantages(Water,Fighting,Psychic,Dark) which allows me to prepare and take on all of the major Archetypes.

Which Lati's are you playing for the lock? If it's the typical Latios Ex d and Latias HP holo Body blocker then it's not going to help against Magmortar. Yes, you block Magmortar's body for a turn or two, but you then give them 2 prizes as Mag X snipes Latios Ex d off of your bench.

lol you think they are gonna waste 5 turns to kill Latios ex d?
I mean, yeah theres a possibility but not too likely

if you're willing to play claydoll ex than play a jirachi to lock powers with your latilock

it only seems good as an answer to gallade since it can attack for weakness and discard precious dres and scrambles, but they can ohko and prevent your powers with gardy, which seems key with this trainer setup, and it has no considerable advantage over magmorter, except latilock blocking their healing and discarding scrambles or whatever energy, mag can flame bluster to one shot your latios ex, although i doubt they would waste resources on that, your active gives 2 prizes anyway

for a fishin engine cards like dex and nav come in handy especially since quick ball covers most of your pokemon needs

good idea i'd like to test it or against it sometime

Its Lati-Lock. Latias D Latios D.

He ment with Magmortar X. Which wouldnt matter because if all goes to play, they;d never get that opportunity.

Jirachi would slow set-up. 2 for 3 isnt good, even though of the great effect. And Most likly they wont have a Stage-2 when I want to use it. Will consisder though.

How is it only GG? Do you not know that Claydol can switch to fighting type then take an advantage with Psychic boost to OHKO Blissey that has atleast 5 Energies on it(Which is almost always)? You also know that turning off powers ultimatly doesnt hurt me because Drawing is always needed, and to OHKO Gardy I dont need to switch types. And its no Latios EX. I'm pretty sure the list say Latias D Latios D.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

I suggest a Pachurisu start to get your pokemon out and drop the holon mentor and lati-lock.

Pachi would kill speed and make my trainer line useless.

my area has never seen much blissey, before gallade, lucario kept blissey at bay,

blissey will see some play with weavile and darkrai

it looks good though i will test it

i'm just not worryed about blissey it won't be played in my area much, gallade is dominant now and magsol is pretty big, no idea what to expect for states but this deck would probably do well i hope someone trys it out

yeah with so many great balls i think you can afford to at least replace mentor with roseanne's

i haven't seen anyone use 13 energy this year, i've seen 14 but since they can all play on a basic i bet it doesn't have too hard of a time with energy, theres so much draw with claydoll and the energy requirements aren't that big

what do you do in the situation that you see a creelellia x. It more or less makes you loose. 3 prizes for one card = GG. In this format i think t5he only effective way to even try claydol is with at least 1-0-1 blastoise tech otherwise weakness kills you.

but It wont attack and is a bench sitter, easy 2 prizes and a good reason he dosent play him. It wont be active unless he just is stalling and they have 1 retreat, not much of a hurt.

Warp Point and Wadger is nice in this deck.

1.Claydol GE recovers the lost and either makes it even or more of a advantage.

I would cut great balls and just do a mentor, change TVR to Prof Oak Visit or TGM.
