Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Shiftry EX

Vegeta ss4

Iron Chef Leader
I never thought that an EX in the current format would be good but, I think this EX may pack that punch that may win a states. Shiftry EX cg is a great card with only 1 downfall from being nearly unstoppable. The Weakness of Grass and Fighting. Grass I am not so much worried about but, I have seen some pretty sweet grass decks come out thanks to GE but, I am worried about fighting types. So, I made a list for Shiftry EX CG and put in a 1/0/1 Blastoise δ line. I put in Absol as my starter and absol EX for damage manipulation, added some darkrai LVX and I created a deck that is very solid. Does anyone else think Shiftry EX CG could be a great play at states?

If you found a way to work against Gallade I actually like it. But, even more than Gallade that scares me is a Sceptile deck. I think that would run through it even easier than Gallade.

It was good last states =) But I dunno about this season...Ex's just aren't good =(

I love you happy bday!

thx and Bak at ya!!!!:thumb:

and yes I realize it is an EX....:(

If I can find away without worrying about Gallade, can any deck really beat this????

Mob.......I have thought about something similar like that!!!!

I am just testing different ideas.

I am also trying Pachurisu as the starter over Absol, just testing different options. So far in testing it isnt bad!!!

It would actually work very well against Gallade, provided you don't drop it in the active position.
Most GFG deck I have seen don't run much draw, and rely on their opponents supporters to setup, via Gardevior. This means that if you lay Shiftry down on your bench, you can attack with another pokemon, and let your evil tree inflict pain on your opponent from the safety of the bench.

I have heavily tested, and actually used at a cities, Empoleon/Shiftry. It was decent, but I still had a hard time getting it to setup consistently with the right energies in my hand. I think it has a chance to be a great surprise deck at states though.

I've had an Absol Ex, Lucario, Shiftry Ex deck built for quite a while now. The damage spread and manipulation was nice, but when I played it earlier in the year there weren't enough power based decks for Shiftry Ex to make an impact in the games. With power based decks now reemerging, Shiftry Ex will have a much better effect. As for a starter, a 4-2 Furrett line works pretty well in most stage 2 decks, so I advise trying that. Furrett can also help you find your Blastoise line a little easier, as well.

As a starter, it will either be something that will set me up, or disrupt my opponent. Thus, leaves 2 options, Pachurisu, and Absol.

I am working on 7 different ideas for this deck, the main focus is with Pach and Abs!!!

If you are set on either Pachi or Absol, I tend to lean toward Absol. While Pachirisu is an amazing starter, its also a limited one. Once you have done a CFF, it's set up effect is greatly diminished. Absol, on the other hand, can continue to disrupt your opponent until they do something about it (if they can). On another note, Pachirisu's effect on your set up can be duplicated by various trainers (most notably Mentor and Roseanne's), while Absol's effect cannot be duplicated.

ya, I have been leading on Absol for some time now!!!

This is something I am trying right now, heres my list!!!

This is Pach version-Will try Absol version a lil more before posting.

4 Seedot
2 Nuzleaf
4 Shiftry EX CG
2 Darkrai
2 Darkrai LV X
1 Squirtle
1 Blastoise δ
1 Absol EX

Trainer: 24
3 Roseanne's
4 Bebe's Search
4 Professor Oaks Visit
1 Professor Birch
4 Rare Candy
4 Pokedex
2 Warp Point
2 TSD

Energy: 15
4 Special Dark
11 Basic Dark

This was a silly sketch when I built this deck and as you can tell, it could use some MAJOR tweaking.

You'd have to play atleast 3 Crystal Beach so you could even stand a chance vs Magmortar/Gallade.

Some Galactics Wagers as well. Even fitting in a 1-1 Claydol line wouldn't hurt since this deck has very little draw in it.

-1 Pokedex
- 1 Prof. Birch

+ 1-1 Claydol

ya I know but the problem is finding room, this deck needs some deck thin so you can pull Shiftry EX out fast. I have 7 varients of this deck but the problem is, theres NO room for all of these ideas. I didnt want to have to play Claydol but it looks like I may have to go with a 2-2 line of it and drop the draw fo some TGW.

i don't see how this can beat magmortar? it isn't hard to set up without using my powers (or using them sparingly) and if you waste time ko'ing a typhlosion or delcatty it's just one more turn i get to attack with magmortar and take 2 easy prizes WHILE healing myself.
