Personally, I like the name. It's a heck of a lot better than "Secret Wonders"...what an oxymoron...

Anyway, as long as I get Zapdos, I'm happy. Also, I've heard a lot of talk about Phione. Can someone tell me what he supposedly does?

It was actually Secret Wonders and Great Encounters. Anyway, i liked the names Secret Wonders and Great Encounters, But i think Majestic Dawn is one of the best
 
Great Encounters was one of the biggest jokes there was. Bad name.

More like Mediocre Encounters if you ask me.

I do however think that Majestic Dawn is one of the best.
 
Its ok. More imaginative than "Sandstorm, Dragon" etc. The next set will be called Myths and Photographs. Calling it now.

It's amazing that Duel Masters' set names are usually to poke fun at other TCG's set names. XD

On a serious note, I like the set so far. It's very promising and it'll toss up something fresh (in my opinion, anyway).

The name could be better, but at least it isn't that bad, lol.
 
Actually, compared to most recent sets, Sandstorm was a fairly decent name. What has there been since then?

The bad:
Dragon, Magma vs Aqua, Hidden Legends, FireRed/LeafGreen, Deoxys, Emerald, Legend Maker, Crystal Guardians (meh), Power Keepers, Diamond Pearl, Mysterious Treasures, Secret Wonders, Great Encounters

The good:
Team Rocket Returns, Unseen Forces (IMO), Delta Species, Holon Phantoms, Dragon Frontiers

I should probably have put "The Ugly" up there, but there have been very few good set names. Not like what the Japanese seem to have (IMO).
 
Judging by the trend and by the name of the last japanese set ("Temple of Anger, Cry from the Mysterious"), I think that DP6's name will be something like Frustrated Pilgrims.

I know two hatters, Josh B., and his dad. You're not accusing other members of being haters, I'm sure. So, I'm confused. Must mean Madhatter's relatives, but I don't think they are, actually. :confused:

Seriously, MD is a pun on doctor. ~.~ I love puns (they're a lot like typos in some ways & I really like a good typo). That's why I like the abbreviation. I can wait for the deck names. Although, I believe The Supes can claim to be the first to post the Dr. Duck name on the Gym.

Majestic Dawn - Majestic more specific than 'great', 'secret' and it's near synonym 'mysterious'. Dawn is a concrete event or a colorful adjective, again more distinctive than 'encounters' (1st, 2nd or 3rd kind?), 'wonders' (", cave of") or 'treasures'. It's a lot less general, and as our illuminati have mentioned, it relates to the Japanese set name and cards within the set. Much better!
 
They should just come straight out and make a set called "Good Things". Don't try and mask the lack of imagination. I mean its not THAT bad, but why even bother trying when its obviously not even on the list of priorities.
