Most of you dont this yet, but wev recently moved from the lowly town we used to live in (82 Miles Southwest of Dallas) to North Dallas! Were loving that move now, mainly due to the fact we can attend even more of the out City tournaments.

Anyways, we wake up at 530 AM, get everything ready, and leave for Oklahom, which is now 188 Miles from our house instead of the previous 240...We get there about 9:15 and kinda look around to see what all they had (IE Snack/Soda Machines, Restrooms, etc). After that we go to the massive "Red River Room" (Appropriate for the tournament due to the SWEET Rivalry between TX and OKC), and begin to get cards we were loaning to a few friends.

We get our decks checked and begin the wait for the tournament to begin.

Round 1 Vs Ranee (Butterfree/Meganium/Lickylicky)
(From - Oklahoma)

Well I start with Pachi, bit draw dead for a few turns and didnt have an NRG to get going. While on her side she is able to get a 2 Metapods, 2 Illumise, and an active Meganium SW pounding me for some serious conditions. During the 3 turns that she was setting this up and I wasnt drawing any cards, I was able to get a Magmortar w/ a scramble onit (from opening hand) for when she finally did KO my pachi. At the point she did is when I fiannly started taking advantage of her weakness. I hit her for 40+30 (weakness) and 20 to 2 of her pokes. O that tur after she was able to hit Poison and ParaHAX, to slow me down just a bit, so I built up another Magmortar, which turned into a Mag X later in the game. That Mag X finished the game for me drawing all my prizes for me.
(Win) (1-0)

Round 2 Vs Ryan (Gardilade)
(From - ???)

I was able to get my prime starter (Pachirisu), but this time with an energy. So I got all the stuff I needed to get going. He also was able to get a Gardy in place Turn 2-3 and began his set-up. I think, IIRC, that I was the one that got the action started and began spreading damage around with magmortar. He got up a Gardy x towards mid-game that caused me some trouble, grabbing him some prizes and keeping my powers off..But that was the hard part///It was killing the second Gardy on his bench. He ended up making a Costly mistake. Time was called, and we were tied 2-2 in prizes. This is where it happend. He had Night Maintenanced on the turn before time was callaed, and grabbed ralts/ralts/Gallade. That right there cost him. I had a Mawile and Pachi on my bench that he could have "Bring Down" for the win. (He had 2 DRE In his hand).
(Win) (2-0)

Round 3 Vs ??? (Magmortar/Claydol)
(From - Kansas (I Think))

I get a decent start...While his is abyssmal...Baltoy start, and having to reload his hand with him. I managed to get a Magmortar up and running, and began spreading damae to his bench. He gets a prize or two, but the bench damage is just too much.
(Win) (3-0)

Round 4 Vs Macon C. (SUPER SPEEDY Electivire)
(From - North Texas: Near me)

Dude...Man this was the closest game ive had by far this season in tournament play. I start wth pachi, load my bench...He does thesame except he mentors to get his bench. 3rd turn he had 3 Sighns of Evo Electabuzz's going and drawing. He was drawing between 6-9 cards a turn in combo with catty, and motor drive Vire to get NRGies back. He was hitting OHKO's whil I was spreading damage to take multiple prizes later in the game. We did this so much we both had 1 prize left. I was on my last turn (Beofre I won), had no deck, no way to get deck, and the last prize. I actually had to retreat my Magx X for one on the bench with 4 Fires.

I do have to comment on this though: Had he had 4 DRE's or one of us made just 1 MISTAKE, that this game could have gone either way. Just happened to be mine this time. (Ill see him again later).
(Win) (4-0)

Round 5 Vs Kathy O. (Gardilade)
(From - Central Texas: San Antonio)

I get another Pachi start, and immediately got for the Mawile. She goes, doesnt have muchan passes. I then begin flipping prizes, and get some decent supporters off of hers. I did this for 4 turns (I thin). While doing this I get setup once again, Magmortar's Galore, and begin the assault knowin she cant OHKO anything now. She manages to get Gardy X going and does a combination of Bring Down and Psy Lock to get some prizes, but in the end, it was my Burn and bench damage that did her in. Thanks for being a sport!
(Win) (5-0)

At this point we wait (We being the rest of the top 8 hopefuls) to see the standings after round 5. I figured out, that the 6-0 would make it, All 5-1's would make it, and 1 4-2 would make it.

Round 6 Vs Will B. (Banette TecH)
(From - Oklahoma)

Man, he ended up with a horrible start. I get Pachi going and thats pretty much it for him. He Doesnt get NRG or much else for a few turns allowing me to get setup....I get Magmortar going doing his wonderful Bench Damage....Not much else he could do.

I do have to say though, that during the course of the game he got all 4 ER2 Flips, and survived my burn by getting 5 heads there.
(Win) (6-0)

So at this point, I was like ok...I dont have to drop with a 5-1 record. We wait for the Standings to be posted to see who well be playing.

Game 1 -
Same as Round 4.

Game 2 -

Ok, I pretty much get the same start as in Game 1, but this time...he doest...His deck decides to fizzle out and I manage to draw all my prizes, with it not being that close...Sorry dude!
(Win) (7-0)

Top 4: Vs Trevyn S. (Infercatty)
(From Texas)

Game 1 -
We both get great starts/setups, but I knew it was going o be easy until that Catty-EX came out. Well it dd, to KO my damaged Magmortar. I then brought up another one with enought NRG to KO the Catty-EX to even the Prizes at 1 a piece. He promotes his Infernape does stuff, then retreats it for a catty on the benc...I knew he had plenty of DREs in his hand, so I was expecting him to deal 80 to me (with APE), and put my in a HUGE bind...But he didnt. So I Lv up to my X and deal 40 and Burn...He flips Heads...He then goes and doesnt have enough NRG in the discard to OHKO me (and no cards left in deck), so all he had to do was pass. I then pass for the win.

Game 2 -

Turn 3 Infernape KO
(Win) (8-0)

FINALS Vs Kason (GAG)
From Missouri

Game 1 -
Ok, Kason, is a relatively new player to Pokemon (Playing since August), so give him some major props.

Anyways on to the match, which is going to be sweet and short. Critical Discards with Absol + Mars, beat me. Scoop.

Game 2 -
Slightly better in my setup, and went on longer than game 1, but same result...Key discards hurt.

Great job Clay!! At this point I wont be facing you in the Grinder in Orlando cuz it looks like you might get the rankings invites with your splendid play this year :)

Yea, the OK/TX Metagame is sooooo diverse. Granted you still have the winning decks, but they are taking hits from the Rogues!

Who do you usually play with? Maybe we can help get your nationals deck ready. I can play test a
darkrai deck and I also have an absolade I can run against you. I am sure macon can run his electivire.
