Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Post-Release SSBB Discussion [SPOILERS]

you let jigglypuff beat you?

I cant help but laugh at that.

It's not funny! I was playing in training mode earlier and three puffs attacking me. ALL OF THEM WERE USING ROLLOUT! Try having three of them hitting you at the same time! Then try to laugh at puff kicking your butt!

is it just me or is it still hard to play anyone online in brawl. it takes at least 3 minutes to connect with people, then sometimes theres major lag where you can barely move.

I love R.O.B. His a-smashes are so powerful. I also like Pit, Toon Link, Link, Captain Falco, Olimar, and Wario.

Its probably your connection or something. Are you trying to battle friends or random people? I have not battled anyone randomly, but I have done plenty of games with friends on Pokegym and the connection was quick and there wasen't much lag, so its probably your connection or router. Who knows? Maybe the weather affects the connection.

Battling 'vs Anyone' is quite deffective still, but battling against friends seems to be almost flawless, at least for me I think it's simply the distance between where I live and the people whom I have battled in the US.

This game is too great. I tried out 2 other types of controllers earlier against my friends here. I used the Wii Mote and its an OK option, but jumping and shielding is very awkward, SPECIALLY jumping, so recovery is harder, and doing a light jump is very hard. The Classic controllers sucks big time IMO. Maybe by tweaking the button configuration it could work, but having the X and Y swapped out from the GCN controller is very lame. I still won all of the battles, but with the Classic controler I had to resort to pure smashing with the secondary joystick, as any sort of aerial attacks sucked.

A lot of people are having trouble with it. With so many people on all at once (Due to the sunday release obviously.) it is hard for the server to keep up. Just wait a few days/a week and it should be better.

My favorite is Lucario, the recovery move is nice, once you use it you can zoom around a little (Helps with dodging edgeguarding opponents.) And the double team (B+down) is amazing if you abuse it correctly. Add all that with the fact that he gets stronger when hurt and he can get mean when used right. :thumb:

I also like Ike, big, large, slow attacks that should just cleave an opponent in two plus a counter attack... If timed right he works wonders.

Does anyone know how the coin betting system works when choosing stages?
When ever I pic a stage on an online match, it will say 1 coin in a black circle. Anyone know what it is?

Btw, what happens if olimar throws a Pikmin into Pit's Mirror shield? Does it attack olimar? Same with Mario's cape.

the connection to this game is soooo bad!!! And i kno its not my cause i have xbox live and its flawless all my games i NEVER LAG. Even if my girl is playing a game on the cpu, my friend on her laptop and me on the xbox NEVA lags, yet smash lags like crazy >.>

Toon Link is a beast...

When I first tried to unlock him, I knocked him off the screen. Then a bomb from a ship KO'd me RIGHT before TL turned into a tiny little star...

Second attempt, no problem. Unlocked him, done...

Playing as him, good lord, he is a beast. I would even say his air attacks are (overall) better than [normal] Link's.

If Olimar would happen to stupidly through a Pikmin into Pit's shield, it would bounce back and attack Olimar.

Well, two things come to mind.

1. OMGWTHLOLBBQSOS!! PKMN Trainer is way better than I thought he'd be. I thought that all three Pogeys would have massive flaws since you're treated to three different characters in one, but it's really balanced and stuff. All three are great air attackers, and since you're using THREE characters, you can switch up to better fight whoever. Also, Charizard's Rock Smash is pimp. Priority much?

2. I REALLY wanted to go online. However, it seems that the vast majority of people are having serious issues connecting with SSBB (yes, I know people are quicker to complain than express satisfaction, but it's hard to ignore when it seems to be at a 10:1 ratio). I'm also sad that there's no voice chat, as every game needs my incredibly attractive (read: eerily fluctuating between deep and sceechy depending on how awake I am) voice.

Also, Rock Smash FTW. You can't beat it. Charizard pulls a rock out of his low-rider fannypack and headbutts it in your general direction. It does 20-40% damage to Lv. 9 Metaknight bots. Fear it.

The online play is only bad because so many people are on and our messing up the servers. Wait a little while and it should be better, nintendo will have fixed their servers to accommodate everyone.

I'm surprised many people have had problems with online play. Lag is one thing (which is all I encounter), disconnections/not able to connect is another.

Voice chat would be tricky for several reasons...

1. Another port on the Wii Remote wouldn't do it. Having a connection split system (like with headphones) would drain batteries. This means the last (or only) choice would be to use the USB ports, which means that the headset would have to support any given distance between the player and the console.
2. Once again, internet traffic would be an issue. Seeing that people already have enough of an issue with online play, more traffic coming to and from the Wii would cause more connection problems for players and longer loading times for the game itself.
3. Button configuration: Not enough buttons for the "press to talk" function, and I certainly don't want to hear shouting and heavy breathing.

i use toon link, ike, and olimar.
i still love samus, but i have sooo much practice with her that im using those 3.
toon link is really good, i like him a lot more than reg. link. all of his moves are better in my opinion. and he's faster.
i like olimar a lot. i love the range he has and the yellow and red pikmin are soo strong. the blue has great range, the white puts huge amounts of damage on them with <B> and the purple is just reallly strong.
ike eats everyone with more than 50 damage on them.

im maining toon link with olimar as my secondary.

You know, I think the Wiimote uses Bluetooth. So maybe in the future some games could support the common Bluetooth earpiece/headset?

But voice would really only be a great addition if the game supported clans. :frown:

Too bad the Wii doesn't use radio waves like bluetooth does, it uses an infered LED. Not even close to compatible with each other... :frown:
