Crobat: any potential?

First, I really like evolutionary toxic. It's attack comboes well by letting you re-use after putting it back to your deck and if it will KO you can do 50 eleswhere. I like Golbat too and the free retreat is great. Fighting resistance.

Does it have any potential in the current format or is it simply ineffective?

Play it with Weezing, Toxicroak and Arbok. It might have a good matchup against G&G.

Strategy: Poison with Crobat, put a bunch of Weezings on your Bench, Poison now does like 50 in between turns. Then Arbok does a 50 on top of that, and 80 to G&G. Muk might work instead of Arbok.

No to Muk expensive attack, bad pokébody and retreat, Weezing sounds good. I was thinking of it as more of a tech.

Yeah, if Muk only needed 1 or 2 less Energy...

So, Arbok would be best. 1 Energy for 50 damage, plus your 50 for Poison... plus the +30 bonus against Gardlade = OHKO on Gallade, Gardevoir and Gardevoir X.

Toxicroak keeps that Poison, and so there you go.

I guess it could be a fun tech in G&G. Drop it, Poison them, snipe like anythig for 50, shuffle, repeat... fun. Plus your Gallades are now doing more damage.

Crobat, great power, horrible attack> The attack is so horrible that it makes the card unplayable.
IF you had the choice to flip, well that would be a different story, but as it is mandatory it is garbage.

hey guys,i've posted a deck on deck help!!
plz plz plz take a look!!
there is a good thing going with crobat but the attack effect is quite bad!!
even though it has fighting resistance!!

No, it's just that if you flip tails, you get free Retreat.:thumb:

But if you can swarm with them and pull them from the deck effectively, isn't the shuffle a positive thing to activate the poison? Like if you're using it mainly for the poison you don't really need it to stay in play? Or do you?

If its damaged, being shuffled back sort of saves you a prize. It still does the damage when you shuffle right? I just like how the 50 spread adds up.

It suprises me I haven't heard it in a positive light ever.

It is because it dose not work. One of the guys in my league tried it in Battle Roads. He only had Two prizes left to take his opponent 3, but all he had in play was one Crobat fully powered and with 10 damage on it. His Opponent had a Vulpix Active with 20 damage on it and one Fire attached and an other benched basic with no energy. The vulpix did the 10 damage to Crobat on the previous turn.
He could have KO'd the Vulpix but he was afraid of the coin flip as he had already lucked out on the Coin flip the turn earlier for a KO so he decided not to push his luck. So he passed instead of attacking
that turn hoping to draw a basic next turn. Of course his opponent evolves to Ninetails (which he topdecked that turn) attaches a fire and KO's the Crobat (after turning himself to Psychic type) for the win.

So any card that has an attack that makes you pass instead of attacking is not a good card.

Never forget that every time you flip a coin, the next flip is less likely to be the same results. In fact, after ten heads, you always get tails.

Thanks a lot for the feedback but I don't think Ninetales is a popular threat and the poison would stop colour shift (not when it evolves as in the example).

There's gotta be some potential in Crobat

if it was stage 1 it would have fair rediculously better. You're deck has to be too cyclic in nature to get it over and over while maintaining a larger evolutionary line.

I've wondered if Claydol makes Crobat more playable now. Haven't playtested at all but was considering trying out a 4-2/2 Claydol line with 2 HP and 2 GE to go along with 4 bats.
